Caroline Larissey A qualified hairdresser for more than 20 years, Caroline’s early career took her quickly through the various positions from salon junior to manager, but her passion for learning and developing, not only for herself but for others initially led her down the teaching route where she spent more than 6 years as a lecturer in South Yorkshire. Following this, Caroline worked for three different companies as a National Training & Development Manager, over a 10 year period.
This continued passion for professionalism and high standards in the hair and beauty sector saw Caroline take up the position of Senior Development Manager at Habia, within the Standards and Qualifications team in 1996. Initially taking over the role of National Project Lead for the 14-19 Diploma she was responsible for all qualifications and developments within the 14-19 education agenda on behalf of the sector. In July 2010 her role was broadened further to include the management of all standards and qualifications work across four nations and leading on the liaison with Awarding Organisations and regulatory bodies. In December 2013 Habia officially became part of the SkillsActive group and Caroline took over the role of standards and qualifications team manager across the whole of the Skills Active footprint. This has included the management of the development and review of National Occupational Standards, Apprenticeship frameworks, new qualifications and assessment materials and working closely/building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across the seven sectors.
