Fernando Alonso is chairman of the Latin American Practice at Hunton & Williams. He has over 25 years of experience in international corporate, securities and banking transactions. Fernando regularly represents foreign clients in US acquisitions, as well as US companies in their international expansion. Fernando has particular experience in the telecommunications and energy sectors. Before commencing his practice, Fernando served as a judicial clerk for the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Florencia De Freitas is legal director at Telefónica Global Solutions, responsible for managing Telefónica USA’s legal department, which includes Puerto Rico, and for advising the company’s board of management on the legal aspects of its day-to-day transaction and corporate matters. She has been with the Telefónica group since 2008 when she was first hired as associate counsel for the legal department of Terra Networks USA, the Hispanic Internet division of Telefónica. She later assumed the role of corporate counsel for Terra, until she was transferred to its sister company Telefónica USA, Inc., in 2012. Before joining the Telefónica group, she served as a business and legal affairs contract attorney for MTV Networks Latin America, with high concentration in the Video Music Awards and entertainment industry. Her areas of practice are general civil and commercial litigation, labor and employment, telecommunications, the Internet and entertainment. She has extensive experience in corporate, employment and contract negotiation. Florencia graduated from Facultad de Derecho, Universidad de la República, in Montevideo, Uruguay, with a Bachelor of Law in 2002, and earned her Juris Doctor in 2007 from St. Thomas University School of Law, Miami, Florida. Florencia is an active member of the Florida Bar Association, American Bar Association, Association of Corporate Counsel, National Association for Foreign Attorneys and Latin America Corporate Counsel Association.

Francisco oversees international and regional legal, public affairs, compliance and regulatory matters for the corporate office and all divisions of Tyco International in all emerging markets including Africa, India, Middle East, and Latin America. Prior to his current role, he was Latin America & Caribbean General Counsel for Tyco from July 2007 to February 2013. He joined Tyco in May 2005 as Chief Compliance Counsel. Before joining Tyco, Francisco held various legal advisory positions for multinational corporations, private law firms and institutions including The World Bank, Ingram Micro Inc. and other industrial groups in Latin America. Francisco is fluent in English, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish. He holds an LL.B. from Andres Bello Catholic University, an LL.M from New York University, and LL.M. from Rome University (La Sapienza), and from the University of Paris (Paris II Assas). He is admitted to practice in New York. He was awarded with Tyco’s Charmain Award and featured as one of the top 100 most influential lawyers in Latin America in 2013 by Legal 500.

Martin Lythgoe is General Counsel for Duke Energy International (DEI). He leads DEI’s strategic and tactical legal initiatives and oversees the legal support that DEI receives in each of the regions where DEI operates, including the United States. Martin was appointed for his current position in June 2014. Previously, he served as Associate General Counsel, a position that he held since 2010. Before that, Martin worked for top tier firms in the United States and Argentina. Martin is admitted to practice law in New York and Argentina. He graduated as attorney from the Universidad de Buenos Aires and obtained a degree in Master in Business Law from Universidad Austral, Argentina, and in Master of Laws in Energy, Environment and Natural Resources from the University of Houston, United States.

Maurice Marchesini is a Managing Director and Head of Latin America Investment Banking at Deutsche Bank. Mr. Marchesini has more than 20 years of extensive experience advising companies with mergers and acquisitions, capital markets issuance and restructuring tr ansactions including advising governments and international companies in privatizations, divestitures and with cross border transactions. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, Mr. Marchesini was a senior banker at UBS and at Morgan Stanley and spent over seven years at Merrill Lynch in various senior roles most recently as Chairman of Global Markets and Investment Banking and Head of Latin America Investment Banking. Earlier in his career, Mr. Marchesini was a senior banker in the Financial Institutions Group at Salomon Brothers, Inc. where he work ed on an array of restructuring, capital raising, and merger and acquisition transactions for financial institutions worldwide. He has a B.S. d egree in Finance from Cleveland State University and an MBA in Finance from Case Western Reserve University, The Weatherhead School of Management.

Antonio Vazquez joined Mondelēz International in 1992 as Director of Legal Affairs, Kraft General Foods Spain in Madrid. At the time, the company was part of Philip Morris and therefore Antonio was a member its Legal Department. In 1994, upon the integration of the Kraft General Foods, Jacobs Suchard, El Almendro and El Caserio businesses in Spain and Portugal, he was promoted to the position of Director of Legal & Corporate Affairs, Kraft Jacobs Suchard Iberia. In January 2000, Antonio was appointed Deputy Chief Legal Counsel, Kraft Foods International, with worldwide responsibilities in the functional legal area, and relocated to New York. Following the acquisition of Nabisco in 2000, Antonio became Vice President & Chief Counsel of the Kraft Foods Latin America Region and in 2004 his office moved to Miami. He was confirmed in this same position following the acquisition of Cadbury Adams in 2010, and the spin-off from Kraft Foods in 2012. Reporting to the General Counsel of the Company, he leads the Mondelēz International Legal, Compliance and Security functions in Latin America. Since February 2015, Antonio is also the head of the Company’s Global Patents Department.

Antonio is member of the Madrid (Spain) Bar Association since 1986. He holds a Law Degree from CEU - San Pablo University and Universidad Complutense of Madrid, a Master of Laws from IE-Madrid, and a Master in International Commerce from ESIC-EAP. Before joining the company, he was Senior Manager at the PriceWaterhouseCoopers - Spain Law Department.
