The Fiduciary Investors Symposium, from November 18 to 20, will examine a list of threats to superannuation funds from currency, governance models and inflation through to brand risk and climate change.


With presentations from leading investors, consultants and fund managers, it will offer strategies and advice on each threat and opportunity.

The event, which is intended for chief investment officers, trustee directors and portfolio managers, will explore the ever-increasing range of expectations and scrutiny investors face. It will offer guidance on regulation, while also pointing towards optimal asset allocation and new investment opportunities.

The two-day Fiduciary Investors Symposium on in the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, offers investors a chance to relax, learn and network with their peers.

Cbus is the $19-billion superannuation fund for the building and construction industry and Davidson is responsible for the integration of environmental, social and governance issues in its investment processes. She has worked in the superannuation industry for 18 years, and led the establishment and growth of the Mothers Day Classic Walk/Run for Breast Cancer Research, an event that has raised almost $15 million for the Australian National Breast Cancer Foundation since 1998. In 2008, Davidson was inducted into the Victorian Honour Roll for Women in recognition for her work on the Mothers Day Classic. Davidson is also secretary of the Investor Group on Climate Change, deputy chair of ESG Research Australia, and national chair of the Mothers Day Classic. First State Super is one of Australia’s largest Superannuation funds with more than $40 billion in funds under management where Brandweiner is responsible for the investment function. Much of Brandweiner’s career in investment management was spent at Perpetual Investments, where he was general manager of investments and group executive for income and multi-sector. He was also chair of the investment review and multi-manager investment committees, which collectively governed the firm’s investment activities. Prior to Perpetual, he worked at Advance Asset Management and Assirt Investment Research and Technology. He is currently president of the CFA Society of Sydney. Brandweiner has Bachelor of Economics from the University of New South Wales. McKeand, head of equities – joined AustralianSuper in September 2011 as the head of equities. Prior to this McKeand was with Aegon Asset Management in the UK, where he was head of equities. Before joining Aegon, McKeand was the chief envestment officer at AIB Investment Managers and also spent 14 years with ScottishLife Assurance Company as chief investment officer. McKeand is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategy for the construction and management of AustralianSuper's equities portfolio.
