Is your organisation making the most of loans now and what does the future of loans look like?

Date: Tuesday, 29 July 2014
Venue: Congress Centre, London

Overview

FE Loans have had a bumpy start, with the removal of Apprenticeship loans and many providers not using up their allocations. However, overall the volumes have been reasonable and BIS are investing in them. As part of the current consultation BIS are also looking at ways to expand the coverage of loans by both expanding the age range and the level.

Many providers are using loans well and take up for classroom based provision is good, although projections based on applications data as opposed to actual starts do paint quite different pictures.  Independent Training Providers are on the whole not making as much use of loans as colleges and this event aims to encourage ITPs to review their loans strategies with a view to growing their businesses. If the age range and levels expand all providers will have to make sure that they are making the most of the loans.

Objectives

This event has two objectives. Firstly to give providers the opportunity to feedback their thoughts on the consultation directly to the Skills Funding Agency. Secondly and most importantly the event will give providers all the information and confidence they need to make the most of the opportunities that loans currently give them. It will clearly show them the direction of travel with loans and what the thinking is for the future.

Who should attend?

All providers who are eligible to offer Loans.
