Learn to enhance your patients' internal motivation with the Brief Negotiation model. Discover evidence-based ways to counsel patients to make lasting health behavior changes. Brief Negotiation is designed to enhance patients’ motivation for change in a brief clinical encounter. This training is for Kaiser Permanente clinicians and safety net partners.

Objectives
Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to: Define and identify the key elements of the Brief Negotiation method. Demonstrate the Brief Negotiation method with patients in different stages of readiness to change. Assess the impact of your counseling style on motivating patients to make health behavior changes. Create a plan to begin to incorporate the Brief Negotiation Method into your practice.
