10am - Tour of Windsor Castle
The town of Windsor is situated a short distance west of London and is a charming town, home of the Queen’s favourite residence, Windsor Castle, the largest inhabited stronghold in England.
The old town, extending around two sides of the castle walls contains many lovely old houses, boutiques and antique shops and the High Street leads down to the River Thames. On the other side of the River, across a lovely old Bridge, you will find the town of Eton, home of the famous and exclusive public school, Eton College, where Princes William and Harry went to school.
Within the massive walls of the ancient castle, begun by William the Conqueror in the 11th Century, lies St. George’s Chapel, one of the most outstanding examples of Perpendicular architecture in the country and burial place of many English monarchs. Windsor Castle
12.30pm - Lunch at the House on the Bridge
The House on the Bridge is situated by the River Thames at Windsor Bridge in Eton, adjacent to Eton College boathouses and overlooking Windsor Castle. Architecturally, it boasts towers, turrets and battlements; and is world renowned for fine food and wine in a relaxed friendly atmosphere.
The historic river fronted restaurant, pavilion, verandas, terraces and garden have breathtaking views from which to dine.
