Alex Rusate is the Chief Audit Executive at a community bank, bringing over a decade of experience in internal audit and public accounting. He has led and executed financial, IT, and operational audits across a range of industries, with a strong focus on risk management, internal controls, and process improvement.

Alex holds multiple professional certifications, including Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA), and Certification in Control Self-Assessment (CCSA). His commitment to the profession extends beyond technical excellence—he has served as a mentor in the IIA Emerging Leaders Mentorship Program for the past six years.

A recognized voice in the internal audit community, Alex received the IIA's “On the Rise” Emerging Leader award in 2017 and was named an Internal Auditor Magazine Outstanding Contributor in 2021 for co-authoring an article on recruiting the next generation of internal auditors.
