Defining the Australian Energy Vision

The Energy Policy Institute of Australia (EPIA) invites you to its annual Energy State of the Nation forum

The 2014 forum is being devoted to defining the Australian energy vision. ESON 2014 will feature authoritative presentations from Australia and abroad.

At ESON 2014 we will ask...

  • what should be the Australian vision for the new energy era?
  • how do we control energy costs?
  • how do we reduce GHG emissions - will Direct Action and the Emissions Reduction Fund work?
  • what technologies are available and which ones can we afford?
  • what is the future of our coal and LNG industries and our export trade?
  • what are the long term economic and environmental effects of the dash for gas?
  • is Australia in danger of de-industrialisation?
  • is nuclear energy a serious option?
  • what are other countries doing?
  • what regulatory frameworks do we need in Australia?
  • should we work towards a National Energy Commission?
  • how do we reconcile our energy and climate policies?
