Global Energy Conference 2016

DHL Global Energy Conferences are annual, global conferences attended by DHL’s top customers and partners representing every area of business in the energy sector. These events enable DHL to strengthen its relationship with customers, and they provide DHL customers with a platform for engaging with peers from across the industry and around the world. First and foremost, these conferences are a forum for knowledge sharing and networking, where senior-level decision makers and key industry experts can exchange best practices and discuss supply chain challenges and solutions.

DHL Global Energy Conferences deliver exceptional value to all attendees. With so many premier businesses congregated in a single place for a full day, each conference represents an irreplaceable opportunity for delegates to network and share best practices. Many DHL senior executives also attend, granting attendees excellent opportunities for one-to-one discussion and the chance to provide direct feedback.

2013 Conference - Exploring new world and supporting new technologies
Our first-ever DHL Global Energy Conference in 2013 was about “Exploring new worlds and supporting new technologies”. This theme was chosen as, at that time, energy markets were becoming more dynamic than ever before, with predictions of rising demand, increasing resource scarcity, and more challenging exploration. In a series of plenary presentations and panel discussions, delegates addressed key industry trends, supply chain challenges, remote locations, unconventional energy, and MRO in the energy sector.
2014 Conference - Shaping the future: Intelligent energy logistics
Building upon the 2013 theme, the 2014 conference focused on intelligent energy logistics solutions. Delegates discussed how to make the right decisions to achieve intelligent and cost-efficient supply chains for their business. The interactive agenda explored and discussed HSSE, an issue of paramount importance to all IOCs, NOCs, EPCs, drilling, service, and chemical companies. There were also opportunities to examine a fresh, innovative approach to data management in the end-to-end supply chain, reducing supply chain risk, and an analyst’s view and deep dive into the future of the energy industry.

2015 Conference - Delivering value in an environment of change
The theme of the 2015 conference reflected the enormous challenges that the energy industry faced at that time, including price instability and shifts in the energy supply mix. Delegates considered how organizations can deliver greater value in this environment of change. This exploration revealed that many companies were cutting costs and improving cost efficiency by reducing inventories, relocating plants, and more. Other companies were seeking new business opportunities and value-adding solutions such as lean supply chain management. The full-day agenda concentrated on trends, opportunities, and best practices. Industry leaders presented and showcased unique logistics and cost-optimization solutions.
