Program Description

Administration in higher education is increasingly complex, with rising administrators taking on formal and informal leadership roles to support their units and institutions. This online seminar series presents the most current trends and promising practice in the areas of institutional effectiveness, planning and resource management, followed by the opportunity to apply the material within various higher education scenarios.

This seminar is delivered in four live, online modules. The first three modules include a presentation from a leading expert in the field. These presentations are followed by discussion and activities for application led by an experienced practitioner. The final module explores the connections among key competencies and provides some strategies for influencing and leading change.

Attendees gain concrete strategies that mid-level administrators can apply in their day-to-day work, new skills for cultivating a collaborative, solutions-oriented culture at their institution and a support network of peers at other institutions.

The seminar will be facilitated by Christian Collins, Vice Chancellor of Institutional Effectiveness at City Colleges of Chicago District.
