CPD for New Lawyers: Dual Qualification

CPD for New Lawyers: Dual Qualification
Edinburgh, Wednesday 9 September 2015
Are you looking for the next step on your career path?

Have you considered a dual qualification? Do you know how to go about dual qualifying? How to write a business case for it?

The need for solicitors whose knowledge is not confined to one jurisdiction has never been greater. A dual qualification gives you the mobility to move country and build your expertise, giving you knowledge over multiple jurisdictions, which in turn makes you more attractive to employers.

Jim Moser, Head of Client and Community Learning at CMS Cameron McKenna, will be leading this session. He will deal mainly with the qualification in English Law as well as touching on other jurisdictions.

Jim has a wealth of experience in legal learning and development, and, in particular designing dual-qualification approaches, approving dual-qualification business cases and mentoring students, trainees and solicitors on learning and development and further qualifications.

By the end of this seminar you will:

• Understand the basic requirements for requalification in England.
• Understand the reasons why requalification would benefit your business, your clients and yourself.
• Understand what other development options might be open to you, to achieve similar benefits.
