Tamara Sullivan Dean of E-Learning Ormiston College, QLD Tamara is the Dean of E-Learning at Ormiston College and facilitates the College's directions in digital learning. She coordinates regular innovative ICT professional development workshops for teaching staff as she believes that building capacity is the cornerstone of a contemporary school. In addition to developing a broad base of digital skills, these workshops are specifically targeted at enabling staff to plan, prepare and deliver 21st Century teaching and learning through online collaboration. In 2016, Tamara was awarded the Excellence in Educational Leadership Award by the Australian Council for Educational Leaders in Queensland, and the Australian College of Educators Fellowship Award for her demonstrated leadership in implementing educational initiatives to improve outcomes for students in 21st Century environments. | |
Brett Webster Headmaster Ormiston College, QLD Brett Webster has been Headmaster of Ormiston College since 2006. His passion for quality learning enabled by technology has long been his focus. Prior to his appointment at Ormiston College, Brett was an Education Queensland Secondary School Principal and Chair of an ICT Reference Group responsible for building the capacity of teachers across 40 schools. His leadership in relation to innovative teaching at Ormiston College has been far reaching, resulting in staff collaboration that has seen advanced integration of ICT throughout the entire school. In 2015, Mr Brett was conferred an ACEL (Australian Council for Educational Leadership) Fellowship. The award recognises Queensland educational leaders who have made an outstanding contribution to the improvement of student and organisational achievement through their leadership. Peter West Director of eLearning Saint Stephen's College, QLD Peter has been leading organisation wide technology-based change in a number of K12 schools for 20 years. He has a passion for whole organisation change, blended learning and the creation of well-designed courses in Online Learning Environments. He has a technical background, having led IT Departments, building networks, etc. He is also a successful teacher, and thus bridges the worlds of technology and education. His is a Microsoft Innovative Educator (Expert) and Surface Expert, and his organisation was awarded the BrightSpace APAC Innovation Award for Online Learning Environments in 2015, along with Victoria University and Singapore Management University. | |
Steve Whitehead Learning Technologies Coordinator Ardtornish Primary School, WA While living in central London in the early 2000's I was given the opportunity to coordinate the schools minuscule IT area. I loved my position despite the jobs frustrations of no budget and terrible existing hardware. With the enlistment of talented parents and colleagues, we got that Hammersmith school moving forward and I realized I had found a passion. Since returning to Adelaide in 2006 I have held the position of Learning Technologies at Ardtornish Primary School (about 500 students). The school has gone from CRT filled rooms that rarely worked to a Google for Education School where every child from Year 1 up uses their Google account. With 90% used/booked computer suites, R -3 iPad program and 1 to 1 Chromebooks I now work with a team of teachers to keep our school progressing with every child having the chance to access the latest technologies. | |
Jodie Woodall Student Performance Data Manager Saint Stephen's College, QLD Jodie is the Student Performance Data Manager at Saint Stephen’s College and is developing a whole school approach to the collection and analysis of data. She believes that data driven decisions are a crucial element of planning for student learning. As the data manager, Jodie has spent the past three years reviewing all of the data collected and building a concise data dashboard to support teaching and learning programs. Jodie works closely with her colleagues to analyse data trends for cohorts and individuals to enhance the teaching and learning process. The goal of the data initiatives at Saint Stephen’s College is empower teachers to develop individualised learning programs for their students. | |
Jason Zagami Coordinator of Community Partnerships Griffith University, QLD Dr Jason Zagami is a lecturer in the school of Education and Professional Studies of Griffith University on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia where he conducts research in cognition, professional learning and expertise, and all aspects of educational technologies – with a current focus on games in education, girls in computing, augmented and virtual reality, neural interfaces, and computing as a school discipline. He is the immediate past president of the Australian Council for Computers in Education (ACCE), past president of the Queensland Society for Information Technology in Education (QSITE), editor of the Australian Educational Computing (AEC) journal, and president of the Australian College of Educators (Gold Coast region). | |
