Creativity is a term commonly associated with the arts.  Painters, poets, dancers and sculptors often come to mind.  But we overlook arguably the most valuable form of creativity: creative problem solving.

In January, Creative Oklahoma launched a grassroots social media campaign called “Your Ideas Matter” that is motivating Oklahomans to tap into their innate creative problem-solving abilities and participate in a statewide brainstorm for ideas that will make our state even better.  With the campaign focusing on seven topics: Education, Energy, Water, Mental Health, Hunger, Violence, and Livable Communities, the effort is uniting Oklahomans by encouraging the generation of new ideas to improve our state.

The most compelling ideas will be selected for further discussion, with Creative Oklahoma’s cSchool facilitators overseeing conversation group meet-ups at seven downtown locations the morning before the Creativity World Forum.  Industry leaders will then address selected topics during the event, with panelists choosing a winning solution.

By the end of this campaign, people across the country and around the world will recognize Oklahoma as a hub of creativity and a community of innovators.
