Greetings!

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, thank you for joining us and participating in the 2017 Coffey - Holden Prostate Cancer Academy Meeting taking place in beautiful San Diego, CA from June 14th - June 17th, 2017.  The theme of this meeting is: "Beyond the Androgen Receptor II: New Approaches to Understanding and Treating Metastatic Prostate Cancer".

The Coffey - Holden Prostate Cancer Academy Meeting is an annual, invitation-only meeting sponsored by the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) and uniquely designed to be a topic-focused think-tank composed of approximately 75 investigators divided equally by senior investigators and young investigators. The meeting is organized as a series of short presentations followed by lengthy discussion times.  Participants are expected to stay for the whole meeting, guaranteed to be a highly engaging and rewarding experience.

This meeting is a follow-up to the Prouts Neck Meeting on Prostate Cancer, which was originally held by the Organ Systems Branch of the National Cancer Institute from 1985-2007 and resulted in many significant advances in the prostate cancer field. Sorely missed by the research community, PCF reactivated this meeting in 2013. In 2014, this event was renamed in honor of Dr. Donald Coffey and Dr. Stuart Holden, two remarkable mentors and researchers who have made an immeasurable impact on the understanding and treatment of prostate cancer.

This year’s meeting will focus on generating strategies to better understand and curatively treat metastatic prostate cancer, and will include sessions focusing on treatment of AR-negative prostate cancer, epigenetic regulation and targeting, overcoming immunosuppression, cellular immunotherapy, leveraging genomic instability to treat prostate cancer, advancing the use of germline genetics in clinical practice, and theranostic agents for prostate cancer.
