Dr. Mohammed Abuelkhair

He founded the Pharma/Medicine and Medical Product Department at the Health Authority in Abu Dhabi. He was the Head of Drugs and Medical Products Regulation Section and Chair several committees including Abu Dhabi Pharmacy and therapeutics Committees. Continuing Pharmacy Education Committee and Alternative and complementary committee, Pharmacy Council, Vaccine Committee and Allergy and Asthma committee. He founded the drug information and poison control center in Abu
Dhabi.

Dr. Mohammed won the Arab Health Award in 2005 for excellence in pharmacy services. His major area of research is in drug safety and rational drug use. He is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences.
 
Dr. Rani Khatib
Consultant Pharmacist in Cardiology & Cardiovascular Research Honorary Senior Lecturer

Dr Rani Khatib is a Consultant Pharmacist in Cardiology and Cardiovascular Clinical Research at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. He leads on the cardiology medicines optimisation agenda across secondary and primary care pathways in Leeds. He is an independent prescriber with direct patient responsibility. He leads the delivery of several innovative clinics including: the Post Myocardial Infarction Medicines Optimisation Clinics, Heart Failure Virtual Medicines Optimisation Clinic, and the PCSK9 Inhibitors and statin intolerance Medicines Clinic.

Dr Khatib is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Leeds Institute of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Medicine, University of Leeds, with a wealth of teaching experience of healthcare professionals at undergraduate and postgraduate level. He is well published, principal investigator and co-investigator of several research studies with specific interest in medicine adherence and medicines optimisation in cardiology. He is a NICE Heart Failure Guideline Committee member, Fellow of Royal Pharmaceutical Society, Science Committee member at the European Society of Cardiology – CCNAP, and a committee member of the UKCPA cardiology group. Dr Khatib earned multiple recognitions and awards for innovation and excellence in patient care. At the University of Bradford he is an Honorary Clinical Research Fellow.
 
Ms. Nicola Shaw
Advanced Clinical Pharmacist- Adult Cystic Fibrosis
Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, UK

Nicola Shaw is the Lead Clinical Pharmacist for Adult Cystic Fibrosis at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. She has worked in the field of cystic fibrosis for more than 15 years and is a member of the steering committee of the UK CF pharmacist group. She contributes to their annual study days and helps support colleagues working in this area. Nicola is also the co- founder and co-chair of the European Cystic fibrosis pharmacist group which aims to promote the role of pharmacy in managing the care of people with cystic fibrosis.

Nicola has a particular interest in adherence especially in the cystic fibrosis patient and is currently working on a research project funded by an educational grant assessing the impact of a web based intervention on adherence rates in the adult cystic fibrosis patient.

 
Ms. Sophie Blow
Advanced Clinical Pharmacist Peri-Operative Medicines Optimisation and Acute Surgery

Sophie qualified as a pharmacist in the UK in 2008, having spent several years in the South of England she returned to her Northern routes and took a post as a resident pharmacist at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals, NHS Trust. In this post Sophie worked both day and night shifts providing both in and out of hours care to all patients, old and young, and from all areas of medicine, surgery and oncology. During these two years Sophie learnt to understand the Yorkshire accent and developed a passion for surgical pharmacy. After residency Sophie chose to specialise as a surgical pharmacist and worked as a member of the multidisciplinary team providing care to patients on one of Leeds’ seven intensive care units. During this time Sophie qualified as an Independent Pharmacist Prescriber.

Sophie’s passion for improving patient care and collaborative working were soon apparent as she was appointed the lead pharmacist for surgical pre-assessment and acute surgical admissions. In this post Sophie revolutionised team working, with pharmacists becoming a key member of the surgical team, and actively optimising pharmaceutical care for surgical patients. In recent years Sophie has been responsible for colorectal surgery and acute surgical admissions until more recently becoming the lead for establishing a peri-operative medicines optimisation strategy and lead for the elective surgical admissions patient pathway. With such a drive to improve the pharmaceutical care for patients admitted for surgery Sophie led the development of The Handbook of Peri-Operative Medicines and is currently working towards completion of her doctoral thesis.

 
Helen Kilminster

Helen Kilminster is a senior clinical pharmacist for NHS England Phase 1 Pilot and the PCPA Committee Chair for Practice Pharmacy Group. Helen is a based at Whiteacres Medical Centre, Malvern, South Worcestershire. She is an independent prescriber, a care navigator for the practice and is currently in her final year of her Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice. Helen is the nominated Prescribing Lead at Whiteacres Medical Centre and for the Malvern locality, which comprises of four surgeries. Helen is also an Antibiotic Guardian and Sepsis Lead for Whiteacres Medical Centre.

 
Mohammed Ghalib Khan

With over 10 years of experience in the industry and has a Diploma in Medical Sciences from Birkbeck College, University of London. He is the founder and Chairman of Down Central, a charity that helps in the early nurturing of Down Syndrome children. Prof. Ayman Noreddin

Dr. Noreddin received his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of the Pacific, California and received research training as a visiting scholar at the Department of Medicine, Stanford University. He had postdoctoral fellowship (Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics of Antimicrobials), Department of Medical Microbiology, University of Manitoba followed by an American College of Clinical Pharmacy postdoctoral fellowship (Infectious Diseases). Dr. Noreddin’s research interest includes Pharmacoklinetic/Pharmacodynamic modeling of anti-infective and anti-cancer therapy, clinical simulation and Monte Carlo analysis and bacterial resistance in biofilm studies.

Dr. Noreddin has outstanding records of scientific and academic accomplishments with multiple research funding, numerous publications in highly prestigious journals and various presentations in both national and international conferences. He served as a scientific reviewer for the NIH as well as other national and international research institutions.
 
Dr. Osama Hussein Ibrahim

Dr. Osama H. Ibrahim has completed his PhD in Clinical Pharmacy from Oregon State University, USA. He is an Associate Professor at faculty of Pharmacy Cairo University, Egypt and currently is working as Associate Professor at College of Pharmacy, University of Sharjah, UAE. He is the founder of clinical pharmacy department at faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University. He is currently the Head of Experiential Education Unit at college of Pharmacy, University of Sharjah and is the chairperson of Scientific Committee at Emirates Pharmacy Society. Dr. Osama also is a board member of the UAE chapter of ISPOR. His researches focus on pharmaceutical care in developing countries, the role of clinical pharmacists on disease management and clinical pharmacokinetics. He serves as a reviewer and as an editorial board member in several reputable medical and pharmaceutical journals.

 
Dr. Abdulrazaq Al-Jazairi

Dr. Abdulrazaq experience is in the field of Hospital Pharmacy Practice. The experience at the hospital pharmacy focused initially on establishing residency program and training, then progressed to managing clinical pharmacy and coordinating the pharmacy and therapeutic committee with sharpened skills in formulary management, and matured in a key position as Head of Pharmacy Department. He possess a significant consultation experience, including Saudi-FDA, Ministry of Health, and Saudi Commission for health Specialties, and more than 10 local hospitals. Clinical research remains a great interest to him with more than 15 publications in the field, chairing the Clinical Research Committee in the Research Center at KFSHRC, and working in the editorial board of key peer-review journals like the Annals of Pharmacotherapy, and the Annals of Saudi Medicine.

 
Dr. Lina R. Bader

Dr Lina R. Bader is a GB trained and registered pharmacist and a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. She obtained her MPharm degree from the University of Nottingham in 2010 before successfully completing her registration training to become a fully licensed pharmacist. She returned to the University of Nottingham in 2012 for her doctoral training, specialising in international pharmaceutical workforce development, gaining her PhD in 2016.

Dr Bader is currently working with the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), leading research, evaluation and development activities for FIP Education (FIPEd). The principal focus of her work is with transformational development of the global pharmacy workforce, managing a large international team working across a wide scope of projects and activities.

Lina has a deep interest in research methods, as applied to the context of education and training, together with a highly developed skill set in evaluation and measurement. She works across all sectors of the professional workforce, managing the output of a team of experts located across all WHO regions. Lina has authored many high impact research publications and global reports and continues to lead the planning and implementation actions of the global Pharmaceutical Workforce Development Goals, launched by FIP in 2016.

 
Prof. Abduelmula R. Abduelkarem

Abduelmula R. Abduelkarem holds a proud PhD in Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice from Sunderland University (UK), MPhil in clinical pharmacy from Welsh School of Pharmacy (Cardiff, Wales, UK), a postgraduate certificate in clinical pharmacokinetics from University of Minnesota-University of Malta, and a bachelor degree in pharmacy from Tripoli University, Libya.

He had been appointed for the deanship position of the College of Pharmacy at Ajman University (AU) during the academic year of 2011/2012. He had also been the head of the Executive Committee of the Scientific Association of the Colleges of Pharmacy in the Arab World for the 14th Annual Congress of the Association. Additionally, he chaired the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and the central training committee of the College of Pharmacy, AU since 1999. In January 2014, he has had the privilege of accepting an offer from the University of Sharjah to serve as a professor for clinical pharmacy and pharmacy practice at the pharmacy practice and pharmacoetherapeutics department of college of pharmacy.

 
Dr. Rana Mehdi Ibrahim

Dr. Rana earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Wayne State University, Michigan, USA in 2001 (1996-2001) which is a 5 years internationally accredited program, and a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from University of Florida, Gainesville, USA in 2008 (2005-2007) which is a 3 years internationally accredited program as well. She did her residency in various clinical settings at Bluewater Health Community hospital in Sarnia, Ontario; London Health Sciences Center in London, Ontario; Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, USA; and Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida, USA. She evaluated, monitored, and participated in the drug therapy selection for many patients in the cardiac care, Hemodialysis, Psychiatry, and palliative care settings mostly. During her career, Dr. Rana worked as Pharmacy manager at Rite Aid Corporation in the USA for 5 years. She have been employed at the University of Sharjah, College of Pharmacy on a two-year renewable contract since August 2008 teaching both Pharmacy Practice and Clinical Pharmacy courses starting from the first level till the last.

Dr. Tariq Mansoor is Senior in charge Pharmacist at University Hospital Sharjah. He also serves as Clinical Pharmacy instructor at College of Pharmacy at University of Sharjah and in this role he precept 4th year Pharmacy students. Dr. Tariq earned his BS in Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of Karachi. He is certified nutrition support Pharmacist (BCNSP). Dr. Tariq also trained at world’s leading cancer-research institutes and the premier European Cancer Centre, Institute Gustave Roussy Grand in Paris France. He is very active member of JCIA accreditation process at UHS and chair of P&T committee. Before working at University Hospital Sharjah, has worked at different institutions including Saudi German Hospital Group, Riyadh for 9 years at different positions and he has implemented IVPN services at SGH group.

Dr. Tariq Mansoor has expertise in TPN, Sterile IV Admixture and Oncology Pharmacy services and he has given numerous presentations in different conferences.
