SESSION AGENDA |
The Cardio Health Show is about prevention. You will learn how to reduce your risk through exercise, diet and lifestyle, as well as about care giving, medications, alternatives, and new technologies in cardio prevention and care. We can turn the tide.
Sessions are 30 minutes each in the main Presentation Room including Q&A, with 15 minute breaks in between featuring exercise demos and patient stories. Featuring the Exhibit Showcase!

*Due to the flow of sessions there will be no scheduled lunch; the WTCC will be providing healthy food concessions for purchase.
10:00 am: Opening & Welcome

10:30 am: The Cardio Facts
The latest facts on men’s, women’s and children's cardio health and their chances of not having a cardio event. This session will also look at risk factors and how to manage them.

11:15 am: Cardio Health in an Ideal World
How do we define 'cardio health' and what are the steps we need to take to get to 'Cardiovascular Nirvana'? And how programs like the Heart & Stroke Foundation and THRIVE are helping us get there.

12:00 pm: Diet
A focus on how today's grocery stores and processed food can cause heart-health issues without the consumer even being aware. How do we make the right choices when shopping and preparing meals? Particular focus on making heart-smart choices when shopping on a budget.

12:45 pm: Physical Activity
A focus on real-world solutions to cardiovascular health - how different people have different needs and capabilities, and understanding that activity levels can range from light stretching to vigorous exercise.

1:30 pm: Medications
A session for those with cardiovascular health issues and their loved ones. How meds and natural alternatives can benefit and maintain cardio health while providing a balanced lifestyle.

2:15 pm: Caregiving
Heart disease affects loved ones, too! How can friends and family members best support someone who has cardiovascular disease or has experienced a cardio event?

3:00 pm: New Horizons
A focus on how medical procedures and technologies are evolving to meet the changing face and scale of heart disease, and how community organizations are rising to the challenge of primary and secondary prevention.
