  • The 2018 Conference Theme is: "Pumping New Life into Old Structures"
  • Highly recommend 15-20 minute case study/lessons learned presentations.
  • We are looking for a presentation from each supporting state and/or local agencies.  Scholarship funds are available in the form of travel assistance to selected presenters who qualify for funding.
  • Applications are due: Deadline extended to June 1st!

Conference Description

The purpose of the Pacific Northwest Bridge Maintenance Conference is to provide a forum for Bridge Maintenance Crews to share information, innovations, creative ideas, and tricks of the trade to maintain our highway structures including bridges, sign structures, retaining walls, culverts, and tunnels.  Topics include maintenance procedures, standards and safety, emergency response, prioritizing maintenance repairs, deck joint repair, new repair methods and materials, environmental constraints, cyclic maintenance, tunnel maintenance, and "fix it first" strategies.

  • First speaker for each presentation receives a complimentary conference registration ($400 value.)
  • New Presenter Resources: We are here to help if you need a hand developing your presentation! Please contact a committee member from the list below and they can walk you through the process. Remember, you’re just speaking to your peers!
  • If you would like, you may use this template for your presentation (available for download via your confirmation email).

               Goals of the 2018 PNW Bridge Maintenance Conference
  • Provide a forum to share cradle-to-grave bridge maintenance information, innovations, ideas, and best practices
  • Provide a means for bridge maintenance personnel to obtain training and a better understanding of bridge preventive maintenance/repair techniques
  • Foster the development of leadership skills
  • Promote technology transfer within the bridge maintenance community
  • Provide a forum for networking
  • Promote preventive bridge maintenance followed by "Fix it" Strategies            
  • Communicate the need for Bridge Preservation
