Boris Johnson has been Mayor of London since May 2008. Previously he was MP for Henley on Thames from 2001 – 2008 and held shadow government posts as Vice Chairman, Shadow Minister for the Arts and Shadow Minister of Higher Education. In a media career spanning 20 years he has been a columnist for the Daily Telegraph, Editor of the Spectator from 1999 to 2005, and has also produced a TV series on Roman History, as well as several books. A passionate cyclist, he enjoys painting and playing tennis. He spends much of his time bringing up his four children with his wife Marina in North London.
