State Bar of Michigan

2020 Bar Leadership Forum

June 12-13
Grand Hotel | Mackinac Island

Due to the coronavirus pandemic and our concern for the health and safety of our members their families and colleagues, the Bar Leadership Forum (BLF) scheduled for June 12 & 13, at the Grand Hotel is cancelled.

We will continue to closely monitor the situation, explore the possibility of rescheduling, and update you as decisions are made.

Registration fees will be refunded in the original form of payment. Those requiring refunds will be contacted directly with instruction on that process.

For those who have already booked rooms at the Grand Hotel, your reservation will be cancelled, and your deposit will be reimbursed. You do NOT need to contact the hotel as the refunding process has already begun.

Whether you are a leader of a local bar, special purpose bar, or a section leader, the Bar Leadership Forum has something for you.

This invitation-only event offers an innovative opportunity to learn, collaborate, and network with fellow legal professionals.

Friday's programming starts with a joint keynote session with attendees from the Upper Michigan Legal Institute. Consultant Karlene Belyea will speak on Creating Positive Connections in a Multigenerational Workforce.

Significant problems can occur when people from different generations fail to communicate effectively, and there are currently five generations in the workplace with different values to navigate. This session will compare and contrast those values, identify their differing feedback styles, and leave you with plenty of strategies for more effective cross-generational communication.

What past attendees are saying about Bar Leadership Forum...
