Traveling to Mackinac Island

Whichever route you take, driving through the breathtaking Upper Peninsula to

Ferry Discounts

Upon arriving in Mackinac City or St. Ignace, you'll want to choose a ferry to get to the island. The State Bar has discounts with the following companies:

Shepler's Ferry is offering a discounted rate of $19 for adults and $10 for children 5-12 (under 5 free). To receive the discount, identify yourself with the State Bar of Michigan at the ticket window or purchase your tickets online at sheplersferry.com using the code STATEBAR19 for both adult and child discounts.
Valet parking is available.  Parking prices for the 2019 season have not yet been set.

Getting to the Grand Hotel

Grand Hotel is a 15- to 20-minute uphill walk from the boat docks. For your convenience, Grand Hotel operates horse-drawn carriages between the docks and Grand Hotel at $5.50 per person (cash only).
 
Luggage transfer is simple and convenient. Your bags will be tagged at the ferry dock and transferred to the Grand Hotel. When you check-in, simply present your luggage tags at the front desk. Your bags will be delivered directly to your room.
 
Check in starts at 4:00 p.m. If you are arriving close to 6:00 p.m. you may want to bring your evening wear with you to the hotel as luggage transfer may take up to two hours to get to the hotel from the dock.
