Mike Cox - Event ChairOperations Manager, Association of Employment and Learning ProvidersAfter 13 years in retail purchasing and supply, Mike became an assessor for apprenticeships with TBG Learning in 1999. He soon moved onto various development roles with learndirect, RNID and then LSN where he headed up the bidding and development team, helping design support programmes and research in areas including Train to Gain, Citizenship, Diplomas, Key Skills, Functional Skills and Foundation Learning. He joined AELP in February 2013. Mike is married with 2 children and lives in rural Kent. |

Debi ColesPartner, Never SecondDebi has worked with professional services businesses for over 18 years. Her experience spans regional, mid-tier and Big 4 accounting firms as well as specialist and national law firms. She has worked both in-house as head of Business Development (BD) and also as a freelance consultant before establishing Never Second in 2007. Debi is a hands-on proposal and BD specialist and an experienced coach and trainer. Throughout her career in professional services she has been involved in a wide range of BD activities. She has led campaigns, coached and mentored partners and fee earners, facilitated workshop sessions and led training courses. Her bread and butter is working with teams to support competitive tenders and she offers help at any stage of the process; from project management, facilitating brainstorming sessions to draw out the key messages, developing proposal documents, coaching presentation teams through to conducting client debriefs. In addition she has delivered a range of tailored training sessions to clients on topics including winning tenders, presentation skills and consultative selling skills. |
