
Traverse City Track Club Bayshore Marathon
Race Day: Saturday, May 27, 2017
Full Marathon: Start Time 7:15 a.m.
The Bayshore Marathon starts on the grounds of Northwestern Michigan College, then winds through one mile of residential neighborhoods. The majority of the race will follow the waterfront along the East Arm of Grand Traverse Bay including Birchwood Drive, East Shore Road, Center Road (M-37) and Bluff Road. The course is flat, 100% paved and shaded along much of the route. Expect a fast and scenic race with some of the most breathtaking views available on any marathon course. There will be 18 aid stations on the course. All marathoners will receive a short sleeve tech running shirt with the Bayshore Marathon Logo.
Half Marathon: Start Time 7:30 a.m.
The Half Marathon will start on Devils Dive Rd. to Seven Hills Rd. then continue east to Center Rd. It will then go south to Blue Water Rd. then east to Bluff Rd. where it will join the Marathon course following Bluff, Center Rd. and East Shore Dr. back to Traverse City and the finish line. The new start will involve approximately a 225 foot climb near the beginning of the race before dropping back down to the relatively flat remainder of the course at Bluff Rd. The Half Marathon course was certified in 2015 and the certification number is MI15019SH.
Expect a fast and scenic race with some of the most breathtaking views available on any Half-Marathon course. There will be 6 aid stations on the course. All half marathoners will receive a short sleeve tech running shirt with the Bayshore Half Marathon Logo.
10K: Start Time 7:30 a.m.
The Bayshore 10K Run starts on the grounds of Northwestern Michigan College. The course winds through one mile of residential neighborhoods. It then follows the marathon course along the west shore of East Grand Traverse Bay. Runners turn around at about the 3 mile marker. The course is flat, 100% paved and shaded along much of the route. Expect a fast and scenic race. There will be 2 aid stations on the course. The Bayshore 10K course was certified in 2015 and the certification number is MI15018SH. All 10K runners will receive a short sleeve tech shirt.
Race Day Transportation: The race organizers will set up transportation to/from the start & finish. A schedule will be provided as we get closer to event weekend.
Important Notes:
- Absolutely no roller blades, pets, wagons, baby joggers or other wheeled vehicles will be allowed on the course. Radio/tape, I-Pod, MP3 player, or similar head sets are strongly discouraged.
- Age group awards will be awarded to the top 5 finishers in all age groups.
- There will be no same day race registration for any Bayshore event
