Dr. DOUGLAS E. ZIEGENFUSS Professor, School of Accountancy Strome College of Business, Old Dominion University Dr. Douglas E. Ziegenfuss is a Professor on the faculty of the School of Accountancy, Strome College of Business, at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, where he also teaches auditing courses. Dr. Ziegenfuss has a BA in Philosophy/History from Mount Saint Mary’s University (magna cum laude), a MS in Accounting from American University, and a Ph.D. in Accounting from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is a CPA, CMA, CIA, CFE, CGFM, CISA, CCSA, and CFFP. Dr. Ziegenfuss has eight years of auditing experience principally in the Public Utility and Waste Management industries. His areas of expertise include operational, fraud, and information technology audits. He has authored or co-authored three books and twenty-five articles on audit related subjects. Dr. Ziegenfuss regularly gives programs on audit management, fraud, quality management issues, and ethics. He has given presentations in Mexico City, Paris, Toronto, and Australia as well as numerous locations in the United States. Dr. Ziegenfuss developed and taught a two-hour training course in ethics that meets the requirements of the Virginia Board of Accountancy for Virginia CPAs from 2004 to 2015. Starting in 2016, he has delivered the VSCPA Required Ethics Course for CPAS. He annually presents the course 35 times to approximately 1500 CPAs. Dr. Ziegenfuss has served on citizens audit committees for The City of Virginia Beach and Norfolk Public Schools. He is also the Auditing Committee Chair for Bon Secours Hampton Roads and a member of the Diocese of Richmond Finance Council. Dr. Ziegenfuss also established and mentored the Managerial Accounting and Auditing Club (MAAC) that functions as the student chapter for the AGA, IIA, and IMA since 1994. He has been a local chapter President six times for the local chapters of the VSCPA, IIA (twice), FEI, and ACFE (twice). | |
