Asian Private Banking Summit 2013
1 October 2013 | The Fullerton Hotel, Singapore Financial Times Live and PWM present the Asian Private Banking Summit.
This half-day event will look at the key investment themes currently being favoured by private banks in Asia, how these fit into their asset allocations and assessment of key risks to portfolio returns; measure the effectiveness of rival banks' business models; and look at the behaviour of the Asian private client and how banks should adapt their approach in line with this. Popular themes which the private banks are exploring include income strategies to satisfy clients' hunger for yield, including Asian local currency debt and high-yielding US dollar bonds; increased exposure to equities generally, especially in developed markets such as the US, Japan and Europe; and investing in developing markets, particularly China's long-term growth potential in sectors which benefit from expansion of the consumer economy. Speakers will examine the types of products such as structured notes and funds which can be used to implement these themes and the risks associated with investments. While concerns over Eurozone break-up have abated, clients are worried about effect of tough austerity measures and particularly a possible Chinese slowdown and to what extent the new Chinese leadership will accelerate economic reforms.
