Definitions for each registration category are listed below and are posted on the Registration Information webpage.
Investor: Please click here.
Issuer: Please click here.
Government Employee: Persons directly employed by a federal, state or local government agency, excluding individuals who also qualify as investors for registration purposes (such as individuals who manage state pension funds).
Sponsor Employee: Sponsor Employee registrations may be used only by employees of the sponsoring organization as defined below, and are non-transferable outside of that organization.
Sponsor Employees include:
- Persons directly employed by the legal entity that executed the sponsor application for the related event with ASF (the “Sponsor”).
- Persons directly employed by parent firms or subsidiaries of the Sponsor (whether those organizations are separate legal entities or separate business units of the Sponsor), but only to the extent that such organizations would be identified as belonging to the same ASF membership category as the Sponsor (e.g., issuer, financial intermediary, supplier, trustee), whether or not the Sponsor, the parent firm or the subsidiary is, in fact, an ASF member. Sponsors that belong to the ASF membership category of “large integrated financial institution” are classified as financial intermediaries for these purposes.
- Consultants, contractors, vendors and other third parties providing goods or services to a Sponsor, and anyone else who is not directly employed by the Sponsor.
- Employees of parent firms or subsidiaries of the Sponsor that would be identified as belonging to a different membership category as the Sponsor, whether or not the Sponsor, parent firm or subsidiary is, in fact, an ASF member. For example, employees of an asset management business unit of a financial intermediary Sponsor do not qualify.
