APSAD Sydney 2016 Conference

APSAD and Uniting MSIC are excited to offer APSAD Sydney 2016 Conference delegates the unique opportunity to visit and tour the only medical supervised injecting centre in Australia. This service was the first of its kind in the English speaking world, and has now been successfully operating for over 15 years. It has saved hundreds of lives, refers people into treatment and care and provides a safe space for people who inject with a non-judgemental approach alongside expert care.

We will be offering two tours which are available to conference delegates only.

For those arriving early we have a tour on Sunday evening after the pre-conference workshops have ended and for early birds we have a tour on Tuesday morning before the conference starts.

Each tour is held when the service is closed so you will receive a full tour of the facilities by Medical Director Dr Marianne Jauncey.

6.00pm Sunday 30 October
Delegates to make their own way to and from the Uniting MSIC (you don’t need to attend the Sunday sessions).

8.00am Tuesday 1 November
Delegates to make their own way to the Uniting MSIC, a bus will take you back to the conference so you arrive back for the first plenary session.

The tour is free, places are strictly limited and spots will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.

To book your place email conference@apsad.org.au with your details, contact number on the day, and whether you want to go Sunday or Tuesday.
