Apprentice of the Year 2013
 

The annual prestigious search for Australia and New Zealand’s leading automotive, heavy vehicle, marine and aviation apprentices – Snap-on Tools Apprentice of the Year – is on again for 2013.

Now in its fifth year, the competition will be independently run this year and seeks to reward apprentices who have superior technical ability but have also given back to their communities and respective industries.
 An overall Apprentice of the Year will be awarded, in addition to three category winners:
  • Apprentice of the Year Rising Star: for a new apprentice showing talent and promise.
  • Community Contribution: for an apprentice who also plays a role in their local community.
  • Contribution to Armed Forces: for an apprentice who goes above and beyond to service our armed forces.
Winners will be selected through a robust and independent judging process comprising of well-known and respected figures from a range of trade and training backgrounds. Entrants will have the opportunity to gain valuable feedback and advice from the judging panel.

Prizes

The overall Apprentice of the Year winner will take home a prize package valued at more than $12,000, including a Snap-on Tools product pack featuring all the essentials to set an apprentice up for life, a 40-inch Roll Cab to store their growing tool collection in, and an all-inclusive package to the Sydney Telstra 500 in Homebush in December 2013.
Category award winners will receive a trophy and a tool kit valued at more than $2,000.

Key Dates

  • 5 August – Entry submissions open
  • 29 September – Entry submissions closed
  • 30 September to 17 October – Judging process and selection meeting
  • 25 October – Overall winner and category winners announced
