The organising committee of the joint APPES and APEG Conference for 2014 is pleased to invite submissions for abstracts to be presented at the Conference being held in Darwin, Australia from 29 October – 1 November. We are very keen to encourage presentations of interesting cases and stories, innovations and ways of working from your practice to share, as well as first time presenters taking time to step forward. You can submit your abstracts in any of the following categories:
- Adrenal
- Calcium/Bone
- Diabetes
- Developmental Origins Of Health And Adult Disease
- Disorders Of Sexual Differentiation
- Growth
- Hypothalamic/Pituitary
- Metabolic
- Obesity/Metabolic Syndrome
- Other/Misc
- Puberty
- Thyroid
- Water/Electrolytes

To log on to the Speakers' Zone

Within the Speakers' Zone you can;
- submit your abstract
- edit existing abstracts
- submit additional abstracts
- register for the Conference (once you have created an account to submit your abstract)
SUBMITTING YOUR ABSTRACT
- Your abstract needs to be submitted as a word document and uploaded at the end of the online abstract submission process.
- When you are ready to submit your abstract, log into the speakers zone above.
- You will be taken, step by step through the submission process and the very last step is to upload your abstract.
- Please ensure the presenting author’s details are those submitted, as all correspondence will be sent to this person.
- Once you have completed the online process, you will need to log in to confirm your abstract has been successfully uploaded. This is done by clicking on the Speaker Zone button above.
- NOTE: Sometimes it can take up to 24hours for you to be able to view a document you have just uploaded. Please wait 24hours and if you still cannot see your abstract as a PDF contact the Conference Secretariat.
TRAVEL GRANTS
Travel grants will be available this year to members of either APEG or APPES. Each Association will be contacting members directly in relation to the criteria for applying for these grants.
APEG are offering 2 types of travel grants to its members. Click HERE to be taken to the APEG website for more information.
APPES will be offering limited travel grants to those persons who have submitted abstracts. Information on the details and criteria for application will be sent at the time of notification of abstract acceptance.
APEG YOUNG INVESTIGATORS AWARD
Open to APEG members only.
This award is presented at the annual scientific meeting of APEG to the best scientific presentation by an APEG member who is within 5 years (or equivalent full time*) of completing their specialist qualifications (eg: FRACP, PhD, MD etc) and is an emerging researcher. APEG members with established research track records as evidenced by publications and/or success in research grant funding would not normally be considered appropriate candidates for this award.
The award is made on the advice of a committee, which consists of at least 3 people appointed by APEG Council. Candidates are assessed according to their project's scientific merit and originality, the clarity of their presentation and their response to questions from the audience.
* justification of the equivalent full time period may be requested
