Hot or not? Emerging (disruptive) content and its relevance in today’s Corporate Travel Programs
A panel session of buyers, TMCs and new entrants into the corporate travel programs.
Low-cost carriers are now part of almost every corporate travel program, but it was a hard slog. What other markets are opening up to disruptive content, and how will that affect travel managers? This session will probe:
• How are LCCs affecting airline dealing models and how should buyers modify their corporate negotiation strategy. How will this impact intercontinental air travel / dealing?
• Beyond air: Accommodation and ground transport are now being “disrupted” by non-traditional players. Do these have a role in corporate travel programs?
Moderator: MW Travel Consultancy, Principal, Martin Warner
Panellists:
• 4D Advisory, General Manager, Virginia Fitzpatrick
• ADARA, Managing Director Asia Pacific, Vijay Bobba
• AirPlus International, Country Manager, Australia, David Newington
• Amadeus IT Pacific, Managing Director, Tony Carter

A Safe Work Travel System: Future reality or flight of fancy?
Employers are often compelled to ensure the security of their employees while travelling, but what most fail to understand is that they are obligated to provide a 'safe work system' for employees, even while travelling. This means that there are very specific and detailed guidelines and laws associated with the methodology of travel safety management, rather than a sense of "security" or acceptance of a service offering. During this session we examine why so many companies have it wrong, what the implications are for businesses and travellers and how to "get back on track" when it comes to travel safety for business travellers.
Intelligent Travel’s Tony Ridley will introduce the panel with a vision for a “safe work system”:
• What does a “good program” looks like in respect of the provision of a "safe work system” for employees when travelling?
• What does it encompass, and who provides services to deliver this?
• Are there multiple providers necessary to contract to cover the whole scope – and haven’t we been here before?
• What is the cost of a corporate company not fulfilling its obligations in this area, and has any corporate been prosecuted under laws in this respect?
Introduction by British Airways, Regional Commercial Manager South West Pacific, Nicole Backo
Moderator & Provocateur at large: Intelligent Travel, CEO, Tony Ridley

Keynote Address: Effective use of the airline “group” model in a fast moving world environment
The Qantas Group has undergone sweeping change, brought on by massive disruption in its core international markets and new airline entry of low-cost competition amid the forces of liberalisation.
The group’s responses have become models that many airlines seek to emulate. They have included the pioneering establishment of the Jetstar LCC businesses, development of a vibrant frequent flyer programme, a unique internal management structure, a deep Middle East airline partnership and an unswerving focus on the corporate traveller. As a prelude to a wider panel discussion, Alan Joyce will discuss the components of this comprehensive strategy and how it has positioned the Qantas Group for the next wave of industry transformation and growth.
Amid the growing debate on ‘open skies’ the Qantas chief will share his views on where aviation liberalisation is heading and the future of alliances.

The international market outlook
Oil prices, fluctuating economic conditions, rising protectionism, the challenge from the Gulf hubs and carriers, alliances, labour, low cost carriers - the strategic mix for airline and airport CEOs is never dull.
• What are the challenges that are really keeping the CEOs awake at night?
• Surcharges and the changing distribution landscape - what are the CEOs’ views?
• Partnerships, M & As, JV considerations
• New entrant competition from LCCs, new age airlines and hybrid carriers
• Markets are liberalising and states are not regulating the market as much as they were, however equity and commercial airline partnerships are imposing a new form of regulation/barrier to entry, such as the fear of missing out and being isolated, which begins to turn off/divert revenue
• What about civil unrest and other external shocks that can impact demand?
Moderator: CAPA - Centre for Aviation, Executive Chairman, Peter Harbison
Panellists:
• Malaysia Airlines, CEO, Christoph Mueller
• Royal Brunei Airlines, Deputy Chairman, Dermot Mannion

Keynote Address: Taking Turkish Airlines further
Turkish Airlines is a powerhouse carrier with its home straddling the edge of Europe and the fast-growing Middle East. A strong domestic market, a wide array of services to Africa, Asia and the Americas and a new hub airport on the way, Turkish Airlines is a force to be reckoned with. But is it the network, or the focus on the passenger that stands this airline apart, and where will the biggest challenges come from?

Australia and Southeast Asia at a crossroads
Several SE Asian carriers have been in restructuring mode, resulting in a profound impact for the Australian market as they are all among Australia's largest foreign carriers. What is the outlook for these carriers - both in Australia and overall? Do they leave a void in Australia, particularly for SE Asia's expanding medium-haul LCCs? And what is the outlook for Australian carriers - both at home and in the international market - following the recent improvements in profitability.

How productive is the airline industry?
It’s boom times again for airlines as fuel prices retreat, but do we risk another ‘Money for Nothin’ cycle in industrial relations? Now may be the time for corporations to take some short-term pain to lock in the productivity gains for the inevitable return of tougher times. But will labour groups share a long-term view? In this blockbuster closing session, our panellists will debate these issues and discuss other key topics:
• Are Industrial Relations laws standing in the way of productivity gains in the aviation sector?
• How sophisticated are the aviation corporations in their approach to bargaining?
• How to achieve a consistent strategy across multiple labour groups
Moderator: CEO Forum Group, Director - International CEO Forum, Stephen Pearse
Panellists:
