Event Description

The 2018 Advocacy Forum and Capitol Hill Day is United Way’s signature advocacy training that provides the opportunity for United Way leaders to hear from experts in Washington, DC and connect with network colleagues on how we can collectively fight for the communities we serve.

At the forum, United Ways will learn and discuss advocacy strategies, strengthen understanding of federal policy priorities, learn how to engage donors in advocacy, and network with public policy colleagues.

New this year! We have extended the Advocacy Forum and Capitol Hill Day to provide two full days of content for all attendees. The week will start with an optional bootcamp for new advocates on the afternoon of Monday, June 18th. The full event will begin the morning of Tuesday, June 19th. On Thursday, June 21st attendees will help advance our policy priorities by advocating together on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.

Forum Topics Will Include:

  • United Way’s legislative priorities and the current legislative landscape
  • Preparing for the 116th Congress: Feedback and input for our next policy agenda
