Jenny Allen has been the Chief Executive of Youth Focus Inc. since 2000. Her extensive working experience spans across Asia and Australia, in the fields of sales and marketing in both public and private sectors. Jenny has held positions with American Express, University of Western Australia, Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila, Department of Education in Northern Territory and Holmes Consulting in Tasmania.
 
She has also run her own retail business and chaired a number of charities, always working with children and youth. Jenny was the recipient of Local Chambers Business Person of the Year at the 2009 Bartercard Commerce & Industry Awards in recognition of her strong dedication to preventing youth suicide in Western Australia. She was awarded the Ernst & Young 2008 “WA Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award for her contribution as an entrepreneur in the social sector in Western Australia.

Jenny is a Director of the Youth Focus Board and was appointed in 2010 to the Board of the national peak body, Suicide Prevention Australia. She is also a member of Ministerial Council for Suicide Prevention; Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Nic began his career in Direct Marketing in London, working for two of the most successful direct agencies in the country. In 2003 he set up his own agency, Barraclough Edwards Chamberlain before heading to Australia in 2008 to join 303Lowe as National Head of Digital. Nic is responsible for all digital output from 303Lowe, from web development, email marketing to social and digital media planning and buying. Gavin has a broad range of experience from a long career in the Australian and UK not-for-profit sector - including over a decade as a senior manager. He has been responsible for developing fundraising strategies and marketing activities for a number of charities as well as being an internationally recognized expert in branding, innovation and corporate partnerships.
 
His last role in the UK before moving back to Australia was as Development Director at Cancer Research UK - Britain’s leading charity – with responsibility for Innovation and Brand management as well as leading their e-business and major donor programs. Gavin has managed multi-disciplinary teams in a number of organizations. At Cancer Research UK he led a team of 60 people and as a Director helped provide strategic leadership across the Fundraising and Marketing Directorate of 1,500 employees. He has advised a number of charities as a Consultant on strategy development and organizational management including Board Governance training.

With a background in commercial marketing and advertising Gavin has hands-on experience of developing charity brands and creating persuasive communications programs founded on strong consumer insight research. Gavin has advised a number of charities as a Consultant on strategy development and organizational management including innovation, brand development, Corporate partnerships, Major Donors, and other areas of fundraising management. Increasingly Gavin has focussed on donor and supporter insights research - running qualitative and quantitative projects for a number of clients. Over the last three years this has built a broad overall understanding of what motivates the public to engage with social issues and charities.

Rob is currently CEO of Fundraising Institute Australia (FIA), the peak body for the Fundraising sector, a role he took up in October 2011. In his role at FIA Rob is charged with leading organisational change to ensure that the Institute continues to meet the needs of members and provides leadership in respect to professional development and advocacy, especially in this time when a new regulatory framework is being introduced for charities. In this respect Rob serves on the ATO’s Charities Consultative Committee.

Rob left his last role as CEO of the Australian Direct Marketing Association (ADMA) in June 2011 after eighteen years. In that period he presided over growth of the Association from a minor niche player in the marketing sector to become the largest marketing industry association of its kind in Australia. During his tenure, much of his role encompassed working with all levels of Government on complex and sometimes controversial public policy issues such as privacy and data protection, anti-spam legislation, children’s online privacy and online behavioural advertising.
 
Rob’s work has been recognised internationally. He was Chair of the International Federation of Direct Marketing Associations for a four year term and his frequent overseas speaking engagements include sessions at the United Nations Telecommunication Union in Geneva.  Prior to joining ADMA Rob held senior management roles at O’Brien Glass. He has also been General Manager of Marketing at Pacific Aviation, an Ansett subsidiary, was Managing Director of Key Direct Response and Vice Chairman of the ADMA Board of Directors.

Professor Paul Flatau is the Chair in Social Investment and Impact at UWA’s Business School and Director of the Centre for Social Impact (UWA). Much of Paul’s work in recent years has involved close contact with not-for-profit organisations, the corporate sector and government partners.
 
Paul manages the CSI (UWA) research, teaching and community engagement programs. He is project director of a large array of research projects including studies on homelessness, poverty, Indigenous issues, social impact assessment and corporate community investment programs.

Ravi was born and raised in Western Australia and has been with The Trust Company for the past six years. He holds a Bachelor of Laws, a Bachelor of Commerce and a Masters of Business Administration. Ravi is also an Accredited AFL Player Agent.

Ravi is the State Manager of The Trust Company’s Western Australian office which opened in September of 2010. Prior to accepting this role, he held the dual role of Solicitor and Client Services Manager working from The Trust Company’s Sydney office in the area of Intergenerational Wealth Transfer. Ravi has been a regular speaker at Estate Planning seminars and professional development days across the country and feels passionately about the importance of having a well drafted Will.
 
He is coming here fresh from having just recently completed the Kokoda trail. Ravi is very pleased that his appointed executors did not have to make an application for probate on his Will - which he revised shortly prior to embarking on the trail!

Kate O'Hara's marketing career began in the late 1980's and expands across many sectors including retail, tourism, construction, mining and finance. After starting with JMG Marketing, and then spending four years in Singapore, Kate returned to Perth as Group Account Director and a Senior Manager with The Shorter Group.

After several years as State Manager for The Capital Group and following the creation of Intersect Communications consultancy, Kate now oversees Hawaiian's communications strategy across all aspects of the company's business.

Kate is a committee member of The 500 Club, a member of the Black Swan State Theatre Company board, on the Perth Fashion Festival Advisory Board, a Wildcats Ambassador and on the board of Ready to Work.

Rick is a Perth based multi award winning, international businessman and Founder of The Adventurers. Rick established the Adventurers with his friend and associate Peter Wilson following the diagnosis of his youngest son Elliot with brain and spinal cancer. Elliot passed away in February 2011.

Rick is a former SAS operative and internationally recognised search and rescue and counter terrorist expert with experience in over 25 countries. He sits on the board of numerous companies in Australia, Singapore and NZ, and was nominated for Australian of the Year in 2010. Rick heads the Telethon Adventurers - are a group of people dedicated to finding the cause and ultimately the cure for childhood cancer.

The Telethon Adventurers are a unique fundraising group and everyone who joins is required to conduct their own local fundraising events. Rick vision is to find a cure for cancer – find out how he is going to do it!
