FREIGHT FORWARDING & SHIPPING AGENT
Agility Fairs & Events has been appointed the official contractor for both domestic and international freight forwarding. Agility will arrange all local, interstate and international transport services including delivery onto each exhibitor’s stand at the exhibition venue. Storage of early consignments, packing materials during the exhibition and storage after the exhibition can also be arranged. A complete Shipping Manual has been prepared especially for this exhibition and will be forwarded to all international exhibitors.

Imported Goods
Arrangements have been made with Australian Customs to register this exhibition under Event Status. To achieve this, a substantial financial security must be lodged with Customs to enable exhibitors to import display material and goods without paying duty and GST, as the goods are imported on a temporary basis only. Event Status also allows a limited volume of brochures and associated ‘give-aways’ to accompany the exhibition goods, for promotional purposes. This does not include alcohol, wine, spirits, etc.

Set out below is a brief summary of the alternatives available to exhibitors who wish to import goods into Australia for display at the exhibition.

  1. Permanent entry

  2. If goods are to remain in Australia, duty and GST must be paid on entry. Exhibitors will need to transfer funds to the Customs agent before the goods will be released. Note: If goods are sold during the show then duty and GST should be paid, thus giving the exhibitor the freedom to sell or otherwise dispose of the goods as required.

    Please note that should the intention be to sell the goods at the exhibition, duty and GST is to be paid immediately upon arrival in Australia.

  3. Temporary entry

    1. Event Status - Security bond provided by the Organiser. Duty and GST does not need to be paid by the exhibitor. However please note:
      1. display goods must be intended for re-export at the close of the exhibition;
      2. any promotional material (excluding garments such as T-shirts for which quotas exist) remaining after the show must be either re-exported or destroyed under Customs supervision. If destroyed, duty and GST is applicable;
      3. goods imported under Event Status are inspected by Customs on entry and exit, and accordingly additional charges may apply.
    2. Security deposit - prior to the goods’ entry into Australia the exhibitor may lodge a deposit with Customs equivalent to the duty and GST due. Upon re-export of the goods application can be made to Customs to refund the security. This will normally take 4-6 weeks to finalise.
    3. ATA Carnet - the exhibitor may arrange a Carnet with his/her Chamber of Commerce, which will allow free admission of sample goods for exhibit purposes only. Goods under Carnet are inspected by Customs on entry and exit, and accordingly additional charges may apply.
Note: If brochures and promotional items are brought in with goods under Carnet they will need to be entered, and duty and GST paid, in the normal way. If exhibitors wish to import some goods for permanent entry and some for temporary entry, the goods should be detailed on separate invoices and packing lists and be packed separately, to facilitate Customs inspection. It is possible to import display goods for permanent entry and also import supporting brochures and promotional items under Event Status (if established). The goods must be packed and invoiced separately.

Quarantine Regulations
Australia has stringent quarantine regulations. Any goods manufactured from plant materials and foodstuffs are subject to quarantine inspection upon arrival in Australia. For further information on these regulations, please contact Agility Fairs & Events.

Prior to the exhibition, Agility Fairs & Events will contact all exhibitors to ascertain specific transportation and other requirements. In the meantime, all enquiries should be directed to Agility Fairs & Events.
