About the Conference |
The Ohio Association of Free Clinics 12th Annual Conference brings together individuals who work and volunteer in free clinics across Ohio, from directors, administrators, medical directors, along with volunteer doctors, nurses, and social workers. Additionally, sessions are offered for those interested in starting free clinics in their communities.
A Message from Our Co-Chairs |
This year has brought about new challenges for Free Clinic organizations across the state as well as unprecedented health system changes occurring throughout most healthcare systems. For Ohio, the economic and social changes are forcing healthcare organizations to operate with shrinking resources. This comes at a time of historical demands, especially for Free Clinics services. We are currently providing a variety of safety-net services and evolving to meet this ever-growing demand by creating innovative programs and engaging in new system collaborative. Please join us as we share in the innovative transformation of Free Clinics during the Patient Accountability Act era.
The 2011 Ohio Association of Free Clinics Annual Conference is open to all health professionals. We encourage you to join us for an event that will provide new knowledge and best practices on caring for Ohio’s most vulnerable population - the medically uninsured. If you are thinking of starting a new clinic or have many years of experience serving this population, this conference is for you. We know you will leave feeling renewed toward continuing the mission of providing quality care to the underserved.
Join us Monday morning October 10th to hear from Steve Wermuth, COO at the Ohio Department of Health, who will discuss Patient Centered Medical Homes and bring us up to date on this issue as well as other ODH priorities. During the breakout sessions, you will be able to choose sessions in three focus areas: clinical, resource development, and administration. Exhibitors will be present to talk with you about new products and strategies to enhance your clinic operations and patient care.
Tuesday, we will continue with breakout sessions and take care of the annual business of the OAFC, being mindful of the importance of having time during which you can talk and network with other Free Clinic staff, volunteers and board members.
We hope you will join us and bring colleagues for our 12th Annual Conference October 10-11. Plan to come together to celebrate successes, learn from each other, and plan for the future!
