Everett DeVaul Executive Director United Way of Ashland County Ev DeVaul has served as Executive Director of United Way Of Ashland County for the past five years. He is on his third career that included 31 years as Athletic Director and Assistant Principal at Ashland High School and 9 years as the Marketing and Sales Director for an athletic uniform company in Columbus. In all three positions he has brought innovative marketing and fund raising ideas to all three organizations. He loves to engage the Ashland community in innovative ideas to help enhance the trust and support of United Way and raise additional dollars through unique fund raising events. | |
Lee Elmore Executive Director Northcoast Health Ministry Lee Elmore, RN, is the Executive Director
of North Coast Health Ministry in Lakewood, Ohio. She has been involved with
NCHM first as a volunteer, then as head nurse, and now as director. Lee, along
with Paul Baumgartner and Marty Hiller, were the founding trustees of the Ohio
Association of Free Clinics. She has served on the board of the National
Association of Free Clinics. She serves on several boards in her community and
continues to be active in her church. She is past president of the Ohio
Association of Free Clinics and continues to serve on the Board. | |
Jo Henman Infection Prevention Program Supervisor Riverside Methodist Hospital/Madison County Hospital Lita "Jo" Henman has 20 years of experience in clinical microbiology and 16 years experience in infection prevention. She received an associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from Columbus State Community College in 1991, a Bachelors Degree in Health Care Administration from Franklin University in 2001 and a Masters Degree in Public Health from The Ohio State University.
Jo is Certified in infection control by the Certification Board in Infection Control (CBIC). Jo is currently the infection prevention program supervisor at Riverside Methodist Hospital, a 1059 bed tertiary care hospital in Columbus, Ohio and the infection control coordinator at Madison County Hospital, a 105 bed community hospital. Additionally, she has an infection control consulting business helping ambulatory surgery centers provide safe patient care and meet regulatory compliance.
She was recently honored to be part of one of the four teams in the country to win the inaugural award from the Department of Health and Human Services for Outstanding Leadership in Eliminating Hospital Acquired Ventilator Associated Pneumonias and Central Line Associated Bloodstream Infections in critical care settings. In addition to being a presenter at several national conferences on infection prevention topics.

Isi Ikharebha Director Physicians Free Clinic/Voluntary Care Network Ms. Ikharebha is the Director of the Physicians Free Clinic/Voluntary Care Network which is an affiliate of the Columbus Medical Association. She has been with the organization since 2009. She came to the Physicians Free Clinic/Voluntary Care Network from Access HealthColumbus. Her primary responsibility is leading the effort to coordinate the charitable health care services of the doctors and hospitals in the Central Ohio community and reporting the value of the network to the community, through outcomes measurements and evaluation. Ikharebha earned a graduate degree in Public Health. | |
Susan Labuda Schrop, MS Vice Chair for Administration and Community Outreach Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) Susan Labuda Schrop, M.S., is Vice Chair for Administration and Community Outreach at the Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED). Her specialty areas include medical sociology, literacy, health disparities and underserved populations. She is completing her Ph.D in medical sociology at Kent State University. Her grants and peer-reviewed publications have focused on faculty development, medical education, underserved populations, health literacy and patient-physician communication. | |
Deborah Miller Executive Director Health Partners Free Clinic Deb Miller currently serves as Executive Director of Health Partners Free Clinic. She has been the director of the clinic since late 1999. Prior to coming to Health Partners, she worked at Upper Valley Medical Center as a Registered Nurse. She is a graduate of Edison Community College where she received a degree in Applied Science in Nursing and also a graduate of Park University where she received her BS in Management, Health Care. Deb has also received training at Indiana University - Purdue University, Center on Philanthropy - The Fundraising School. This training was in Nonprofit Management and Fundraising.
She is involved in several community organizations including Troy Nursing, The Ohio Association of Free Clinics, Troy Not-for-Profit Council, Troy Noon Optimist and Troy Rotary.
Deb has received several awards, including the 2009 State of Ohio Health Care Consumer Advocacy Award and the 2010 Miami County Woman of Excellence. | |

Stephanie Patrick, L.I.S.W.-S Clinical Director The ADAMH Board of Franklin County Stephanie Patrick, M.S.W., L.I.S.W.-S, currently serves as the Clinical Director of the ADAMH Board of Franklin County. Her work there, since 2007, draws from 18 years of experience working in the mental health field, working with consumers along their paths to recovery. In her current position, she provides oversight and direction at the system level for Franklin County’s ACT and IDDT Team initiative, serves as the CIT Coordinator, and coordinates and collaborates with all partners on the ORSC Supported-Employment Collaborative of Franklin/Delaware/Fairfield Counties. She is currently an adjunct instructor for The Ohio State University College of Social Work, teaching clinical practice and crisis intervention. She previously served for 8 years as the Recovery Services Program Director at Central Ohio Mental Health Center in Delaware, Ohio, providing clinical and programmatic supervision for SMD adult services including residential, outpatient and crisis intervention. Her primary areas of direct clinical practice have been with adult SMD consumers in both community mental health and inpatient psychiatric treatment settings, with a primary focus and love for crisis intervention. Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Science from Miami University in Individual and Family Studies with a minor in Social Work, and received her Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University. She has been a Licensed Independent Social Worker in the State of Ohio since 1999. | |
Brian F. Pendleton, Ph.D. Professor of Sociology The University of Akron Brian Pendleton, Ph.D is Professor of Sociology at The University of Akron and Research Professor of Sociology in Family Medicine at NEOMED. His specialty areas are medical sociology, epidemiology, literacy, quantitative methodology, and the sociology of children. He was one of the original creators of the Decker Family Development Center in Barberton, OH and served 15 years there as co-manager and director of research and evaluation. He also has served local, state and national programs as an evaluator for drug and alcohol prevention, and literacy programs. | |

Kendall Stewart, M.D. VPMA & Chief Medical Officer Southern Ohio Medical Center Kendall L. Stewart, M.D. is the VPMA and Chief Medical Officer of Southern Ohio Medical Center, and the President and CEO of the SOMC Medical Care Foundation, Inc., in Portsmouth, Ohio. A past president of the Ohio Psychiatric Association, he teaches psychiatry at the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and practices general adult psychiatry. Dr. Stewart has served on the Boards of The Medical Group of Ohio, OhioHealth Group and The Ohio Partnership for Excellence. Born and raised in Rome, Georgia, Dr. Stewart completed his undergraduate work at Berry College, and his medical and psychiatric training at the Medical College of Georgia. He served as Chief of the Mental Health Clinic at Ellsworth Air Force Base near Rapid City, South Dakota before opening his private practice in Portsmouth. He completed his MBA at Ohio University in 1999. | |
Philip E. Tomsik M.D. Medical Director North Coast Health Ministry Philip E. Tomsik, M.D. is the current Medical Director of North Coast Health Ministry in Lakewood, OH. After completing his Family Medicine residency in 2011, Dr. Tomsik was in private practice for 4 years prior to joining the NCHM staff full time. Dr. Tomsik has been active in teaching medical students from Case Western Reserve, residents from Fairview Hospital / Cleveland Clinic Family Medicine Residency, and nurse practitioner students from several local programs. In 2010, Dr. Tomsik completed a HRSA funded (title VII grant) Culture of Inquiry fellowship at Case Western Reserve University Dept. of Family Medicine learning clinical research skills and implementation. | |
Janet Wermuth Focus on Funding Janet Wermuth's 19 year fundraising career has included annual campaign management, capital campaign coordination, grant writing, and major and deferred gift work. She began her development career at Lakewood Hospital, Lakewood, Ohio in 1990. Other positions include Chief Development Officer for Methodist ElderCare Services, Vice-President for Community Relations and Resource Development at Graceworks Lutheran Services, Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at Wright State University and Director of Development, The Children’s Medical Center of Dayton. Wermuth earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Cleveland State University and received her fund raising executive certification through the Association of Fundraising Professionals. | |
