Margie Amato VP – Revenue Cycle Solutions and Senior Consultant MedAxiom Margie Amato, MBA, RHIA, ACS-CA, has worked in health care administration for over 25 years. In her role as Director of MedAxiom’s Business Office Coding Network (BOCN) Margie helps member practices improve the profitability and effectiveness of the complete billing process. This is accomplished through extensive educational coding programs, networking and by utilizing a management system of key indicators to measure and benchmark each step of the billing process.
Her health care experience varies from coding and quality/utilization management to oncology service-line management. The most recent years have been devoted to cardiology practice management. Before coming to MedAxiom, Margie served as Practice Administrator for Utah Heart Clinic for 10 years and then served as the Director of Physician Services for a Salt Lake City hospital where she started and managed a cardiology practice, a neurosurgery practice, and a hospitalist program.
Margie holds a Bachelors Degree in Health Information Management from the College of Saint Mary and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska. Margie maintains credentials as a Registered Health Information Administrator and an Advanced Coding Specialist in Cardiology.
Margie currently serves on the Board of Medical Specialty Coding where she writes and updates test questions for the ACS-CA and SCP-CA Cardiology coding exams. She recently served on the Utah Health Information Management Association Board as the Director of Alternate Care. Margie also served in the Presidency of the Utah MGMA Board of Directors for 7 years. | |
Kirsten Anderson M.D., M.P.H. Chief Medical Officer, Accountable Care Solutions Aetna Dr. Anderson is the Chief Medical Officer of Accountable
Care Solutions at Aetna. Accountable Care Solutions is part of Healthagen, Aetna's
portfolio of innovative and growing businesses. In her current role, Dr. Anderson designs high value clinical
strategies for implementation in Accountable Care relationships. These clinical
strategies focus on partnering with health systems to improve the quality of
healthcare and on promoting cost efficiencies in the overall provision of
health care across all settings. Prior to her current role, Dr. Anderson functioned as the
Chief of Staff to the Chief Medical Officer. In that role she helped promote
the overall strategic goals of the clinical community at Aetna. In addition,
she oversaw a team of analysts who examined medical trend across clinical
conditions and advocated for implementation of programs to deliver effective,
safe, patient-centered care. Dr. Anderson also provided strategic direction for
Aetna Oncology Solutions, which is the Aetna approach to rewarding high quality
and cost effective care in Oncology. In a prior position at Aetna, Dr. Anderson
was a medical director in the Northeast Region in patient management, where she
was responsible for utilization management and for the implementation of high
performance provider initiatives for the New England Region. She has worked as
a general internist in primary care in Wallingford, CT and has experience
working as a medical director for physician organizations as well as managed
care plans. Dr. Kirsten Anderson is a graduate of Harvard
College and obtained her medical degree from the Columbia University College of
Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. She completed an M.P.H. at the
Columbia University School of Public Health. She completed her residency in
internal medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital and is board certified in Internal

Tim Attebery CEO Cardiovascular Associates 25 years of healthcare consulting and senior management experience focused on cardiovascular services. Served as the CEO of three large cardiovascular group practices from 1992 to present (The Heart Group in Evansville, Indiana, South Carolina Heart Center in Columbia, South Carolina, and Cardiovascular Associates, P.C. in Kingsport, TN) and developed a national reputation for aggressive strategic planning, service expansion, revenue enhancement, integrating non-physician practitioners, joint ventures and innovative arrangements with hospitals and other physicians. Eddie Barber CEO Cardiology Associates of North Mississippi Eddie has been in the health care management field over 30 years. Eddie assisted in building a large internal medical practice with over six locations. He ultimately integrated this clinic into the local hospital system in the early 90’s. Eddie worked for a publicly traded dialysis company for approximately 1 year. After his short stay with the dialysis company, Eddie was hired as the Executive Director of Cardiology Associates of North Mississippi. Over the last ten years Cardiology Associates has grown to 18 MDs, 5 Nurse Practitioners with four locations. | |
Cathleen Biga President & CEO Cardiovascular Management of Illinois Cathleen Biga is President and CEO of Cardiovascular Management of Illinois. She has over 30 years experience in health care, including positions as hospital CEO, VPof patient Care services and has been active in practice management for the last 15 years. She has recently completed three integrations for her current groups – successfully transitioning 46 cardiologists. CMI now offers management, billing, and EHR support for the integrated groups. Cathleen serves as the Executive Director of Adventist Heart and Vascular Institute and is instrumental in the development and growth of the CV Service Line for the organization. Henry Borkowski, MD Founding Partner Cardiology Associates of Greater Waterbury Dr. Borkowski is the
founder and senior partner of Cardiology Associates of Greater Waterbury, a
Connecticut cardiology practice started in 1977 serving central Connecticut. He
is the Medical Director of the Heart Center of Greater Waterbury and is a member
of the Waterbury Hospital Board of Directors. He is on the Board of Directors
of Medical Professional Services, Inc (MPS) and is Chairman of the MPS – ACO
Complex Case Management Committee. Dr Borkowski served on the Board of
Directors of St Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury CT for 15 years, was Chairman of
the Board Quality Committee and served on the board’s Finance, Strategic
Planning and Governance Committees as well as the PHO Board of Directors. He
was a founder and Vice-President of CardioNet and served on the Executive
Committee of the Yale Cardiology Network from 1998 – 2000. In March 2011, CAGW

records to analyze and improve the quality and cost of cardiovascular care as
well as the productivity of physicians and nurses in his practice. Cardiology
Associates of Greater Waterbury was the first cardiology practice in the United
States to deploy PenChart. Dr. Borkowski is a graduate of Dartmouth College and
obtained his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He completed his
residency at Bronx Municipal Hospital Center – Hospital of the Albert Einstein

Dr Ed Fry Interventional Cardiologist St. Vincents Medical Group Edward T. A. Fry, MD, FACC, FSCAI is Chairman of the
Cardiology Division of St. Vincent Medical Group (formerly The Care Group), in
Indianapolis, IN. He was born in Dublin,
Ireland. He attended Grinnell College,
IA, majoring in Chemistry, and medical school in St. Louis, MO at Washington
University School of Medicine. Dr. Fry

John Harvey M.D. CEO Oklahoma Heart Hospital John Harvey MD is one of the founding members of the
Oklahoma Heart Hospital, one of the largest specialty cardiac hospitals in the
United States. He received his MD from
the University of Oklahoma with training in Oklahoma and Beth Israel Hospital
in Boston. He is also a founding member
of Oklahoma Cardiovascular Associates, a 65 member cardiac specialty group
which has now merged with the hospital.

Ann Honeycutt Executive Director Virginia Cardiovascular Specialists, Richmond, VA Ann has been the Executive Director for Virginia Cardiovascular Specialists, a 38 man cardiology group in Richmond, VA. for 12 years. VCS is the largest independent cardiology group in Central Virginia. She has served in numerous roles in healthcare for over 30 years including the CEO for Stuart Circle Hospital and Executive Director for St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, Va. Suzette Jaskie President & CEO MedAxiom Consulting Suzette Jaskie is President of MedAxiom Consulting and the Executive Vice-President of MedAxiom. Ms. Jaskie was the CEO of West Michigan Heart and Wisconsin Heart and Vascular in Milwaukee, WI prior to her current position. She also previously served as the Executive Director of the Frederick Meijer Heart and Vascular Institute, for Spectrum Health System in Grand Rapids, MI, that governs and manages the cardiovascular service line for the regional health system. Janet Kennedy Executive Director Cardiology Associates of Greater Waterbury Jan Kennedy began her healthcare career with Waterbury
Hospital in 1974 taking on various financial and operational leadership roles
aligned with the hospital’s integrated delivery system. Ms. Kennedy was
integral in developing outpatient radiology, laboratory and home health care
services prior to becoming the President and CEO of the hospital’s physician
practice. In 2007, Ms. Kennedy became the Executive Director of Cardiology
Associates, the prominent provider of cardiovascular services in the Waterbury
area and proceeded to develop key strategies aligned with hospital merger and acquisition.

Joel Sauer VP - Consulting MedAxiom Consulting For over 14 years, Joel Sauer was Chief Executive Officer of a large Midwestern multi-specialty physician group. Through his leadership, the group expanded from a single specialty practice of 15, to over 225 physicians with over 600 employees in nearly every medical specialty.
In 2009, Joel orchestrated the acquisition of his own group by a large health system and then acquiring other practices to create an accountable care network. Beyond engineering the transaction details, Joel provided the leadership behind the operational and cultural integration of the merged entities. Beginning in 2001, Joel led his group's conversion from a paper chart to a full electronic health record. Given the complexity of the process, both from an operational and cultural standpoint, Joel considers this one of his greatest accomplishments. Joel headed up two significant site development projects for the group including the construction of an attached, two operating room, ambulatory surgery center and a significant expansion and renovation of the group's previous building. Other relevant experiences Joel brings to the table include: strategic planning, joint venture formation, hospital/health system relations, financial analysis, payor contract negotiations, implementing operational efficiencies, and ancillary services creation.

Mr. Edward Sim President, Physician Integration Baptist Heart Specialists, Jacksonville Heart Center Edward Sim was named Senior
Vice President and President, Physician Integration in July, 2011. In this capacity, he has administrative
oversight of 300 employed physicians and also is responsible for creating the overall
model for clinical integration for the health system. Previously, he served as Hospital President
of Baptist Medical Center Beaches where he was responsible for the overall
leadership of the 146-bed community hospital.
Mr. Sim has been a senior leader of Baptist Health since 2005 when he
joined Baptist Medical Center Downtown as Vice President, Operations. Prior to joining Baptist
Health, Mr. Sim served as Chief Business Development Officer and Associate
Administrator at North Fulton Regional Hospital in Roswell, Georgia. He began his career in hospital
administration in Tenet Healthcare’s Leadership Development Program and was also
a Consultant with The Advisory Board Company in Washington, DC. Mr. Sim received his Master
of Business Administration from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and Master
of Science from Albany Medical College.
He obtained his undergraduate degree in Economics from Boston
University. Active his community, Mr. Sim
is currently involved with WeCare, The Nonprofit Center of Northeast Florida, WJCT,
the University of North Florida and MissionWay Community Church. Previous affiliations include Big Brothers
