ACESA is the Association of Chief Executives of State Agencies in Ireland. The Association provides a forum for chief executives to discuss issues of mutual concern and enables them to develop and express a collective voice on issues that affect the sector.

The Association is hosting an International Conf erence in May 2013, in order to highlight the significant contribution that Agencies make in the delivery of public services in Ireland, with particular emphasis on the current economic environment. The Association is actively engaged with the public sector reform agenda, and we want to share our experiences with a wider audience, learning in turn from the experiences and wisdom of our counterparts elsewhere.
Minister Brendan Howlin has agreed to open the conference and the programme is under development. We have secured Trinity College as our conference venue; this, with all its attendant associations, should prove popular with conference participants.
It is anticipated that most ACESA members will attend, accompanied by one or more colleagues. In addition, many members have strong networks with European and international counterparts and we hope that each ACESA member will encourage at least one European counterpart to attend the main conference. We believe this will be a significant opportunity to build and cement relationships with such colleagues and we will provide meeting room facilities for any CEO who wishes to avail of the opportunity to have a specific meeting with European peers. At a time when all public sector bodies have limited resources, this conference will be an opportunity to gain valuable insights into the leadership models that enhance the contribution of Agencies to the reform agenda through careful selection of relevant topics and case studies; ample networking opportunities; and excellent speakers. We want the conference to assist people to stretch their perspectives and learn from international best practice. |
