2014 Advanced EQ Training Course
Establishing an EQ Test Program
This year’s advanced EQ Training is on Implementing and Effective EQ Test Program. Participants in the training will leave with an understanding of how the plant EQ Engineer, the test laboratory and the equipment provider can work cooperatively to implement a test program that establishes qualification while maximizing the auditability of qualification documentation and demonstrating that the equipment will perform its safety function throughout its installed life. The course will be presented with a holistic approach to qualification so the training will be pertinent to anyone involved in the qualification process. This year’s training, based on feedback from attendees of previous Advanced EQ Training sessions, will be offered over two days instead of one. Topics to be presented include:
- Developing a Qualification Specification and Plan
- Defining Scope and Objectives
- Establishing Design Input
- Defining Regulatory Requirements and Applicable Standards
- Defining Test Methods
- Determining Test Sequence
- Determining Number and Variations of Test Samples
- Qualifying Families of Equipment
- Qualification Test Implementation
- Trial and Exploratory Tests
- Measurement Systems and Instrumentation
- Accommodating Design Changes or Substitute Equipment
- Reacting to Anomalies
- Hold and Inspection Points
- Supplemental Testing
- Test Specimen Preservation
- Documenting Qualification Test Results
- Test Summary
- Test Procedures
- Determining Required EQ Maintenance and Configuration Requirements
- Documentation and Resolution of Anomalies
- Providing Supplemental Analysis
- Hold and Inspection Points
- Supplemental Testing
