Course Description:
Do you believe that self-care is an internal control? Well, I do! Join me as discuss the importance of self-care and how it can impact the internal control environment. We will discuss risks related to not practicing self-care; explore how self-care impacts an organization’s internal control environment; discuss self-care techniques; and how auditors can promote good ethics and a healthy work environment.
Speaker Bio:
Eulonda Whitmore is the Associate Vice President and Chief Audit Executive at the Wayne State University (WSU) Office of Internal Audit. She has been with WSU for 21 years and worked in public accounting for 6 years. Eulonda is the IIA Central 1 District Representative; an IIA Training Facilitator; past IIA Detroit Chapter Board Member and President; and serves on the Michigan First Credit Union Supervisory Committee, the Association of College and University Auditors Board, and the State of Michigan Board of Accountancy. Eulonda is a Part-time Faculty member at the WSU Mike Ilitch School of Business. She earned her B.A. in Accounting from Michigan State University and MBA from WSU. Eulonda is a Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Fraud Examiner, and Certified Construction Auditor and has a Certified Risk Management Assurance designation. She enjoys hot chocolate chip cookies, self-care, and giving back to the profession.
