Course Description

This is a two (2) part event. The first part is open to all, while the second is limited to CAEs, CAE equivalents, or CAE designees only.

This session engages participants by identifying and understanding generational differences.  Participants will have opportunities for self-examination and dialogue related to cultural climates needed to support a multigenerational workforce. In addition, strategies to increase recruitment, retention, and job satisfaction for (Traditionalist) Baby Boomers, Generations--X, Y, & Z  will be provided.

The CAE Roundtable will follow the multi-generational workforce session. The CAE Roundtable will dive into that topic as it relates to staffing, talent management, team engagement, etc.

As the Dean of Students and Vice President of Student Experience at Western Kentucky University, Dr. Martha Sales is diligent and committed to students' success. With her 20 years of grant writing experience, she has been awarded 20 million for students' success. Aside from her administrative roles, Martha also teaches and facilitates courses and trains students and her colleagues in her various areas of expertise. She serves and has served in many capacities throughout the campus, community, and nationwide, sharing her knowledge in students' success. As an educator and administrator, Martha is honored to have received numerous awards and recognitions throughout her 27-year higher education career.

Dr. Martha Sales, a native of Franklin, Kentucky, born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Hezekiah (Georgia) Robey. She overcame the barrier of being a low-income and first-generation student herself, which has become her career-long passion.  Martha obtained a Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership, an Educational Specialist in Student Affairs, a Master of Arts in Counseling, Marriage and Family, a Bachelor of Science in Social Work with a Minor in African American Studies, and a Women’s Studies graduate certificate from Western Kentucky University.
