THE CONFERENCE ON BEST PRACTICES IN PHARMACEUTICAL, MEDICAL DEVICE, AND HEALTHCARE INFORMATION DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT
The Intelligent Content Conference on Life Sciences & Healthcare takes place May 8-9, 2014 at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel in San Francisco, California. The event brings together practitioners, consultants, and technology providers to showcase solutions to the complex—and often unique—content challenges faced by pharmaceutical, medical device, and healthcare information companies.
The conference attracts professionals responsible for the creation, management, and delivery of multichannel digital content in regulated environments. The agenda covers a wide variety of subjects — methods, standards, tools and technologies — and features a strong roster of presenters who work in the trenches. Case studies, best practice sessions, mini-workshops, and software demonstrations will be provided to help conference attendees understand what's required to deliver the right content to the right audience in the right language, anywhere, anytime, on any device.
The Intelligent Content Conference on Life Sciences & Healthcare is an annual gathering of the best and brightest content experts on the planet. People who know the secrets (and are willing to share them). People who value content as a business asset. People who have made it their life's work to develop repeatable, systematic approaches to producing amazingly effective content.
The event is organized by Ann Rockley (The Rockley Group) and Scott Abel (The Content Wrangler) both experts in the field of content strategy. Rockley, known as the "mother of content strategy", specializes in helping life sciences companies tackle complex content challenges. Her methods — documented in the book, "Managing Enterprise Content: A Unified Content Strategy" (New Riders, Second Edition, 2012) — are used in pharmaceutical, medical device, and healthcare information organizations around the world. Each attendee will receive a copy of the book as part of their conference registration.
WHY LIFE SCIENCES & HEALTHCARE?
For the past 6 years, the Intelligent Content Conference has helped individuals in hundreds of organizations rethink the way they create, manage, and deliver information to those who need it. While companies in the life sciences and healthcare industries (pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, biotechnology, and health information providers) must overcome the same content challenges that companies in other industries face, the solutions they adopt must also meet an increasingly long list of additional requirements. Content produced for patients, researchers, physicians, healthcare providers, insurance companies, and regulators must also meet the requirements set forth in a wide variety of laws and regulations, and it must be created in accordance with industry standards.
Meeting stringent content requirements is becoming increasingly difficult. Traditional methods of creating, managing and delivering content are slow, cumbersome, and error-prone. Not to mention, expensive. But the days of hand-crafting content are coming to an end.
WHAT IS INTELLIGENT CONTENT?
Simply put, ‘intelligent content’ is content which is not limited to one
purpose, technology or output. It’s content that is structurally rich
and semantically aware, and is therefore discoverable, reusable,
reconfigurable and adaptable. It’s content that helps you and your
customers get the job done. It’s content that works for you and it’s
limited only by your imagination.
