INTERIM/TRANSITIONAL MINISTRY EDUCATION WEEK 1 DESCRIPTION
This training week satisfies the Week 1 Interim/Transitional Ministry training credential required by most church councils within the PC(USA). Other denominations may recognize the Interim/Transitional Ministry training as well, so please feel free to inquire. This event is open to all, no matter denomination affiliation.
The training begins on Monday, November 13, at 1:00 p.m. ET, and ends on Friday, November 17, by 11:30 a.m. ET.
The week includes two required evening sessions on Monday and Thursday, both over dinner. The evening sessions will conclude by 7 p.m.
The course includes core curriculum identified by TMEC (Transitional Ministry Education Consortium) and will cover the following topics:
- Effective leadership approaches in transition
- Tools and tasks to help prepare congregations for a new pastor
- Navigating systems, conflict, and power dynamics
- Theological and spiritual elements of times of transition, including opportunities and limits of worship and preaching
- Building and leading a culture of exploration, discernment, and discovery
Registration for this event is limited to 25 people. Once we have reached maximum capacity, a waiting list will be started.
REGISTRATION FEE: $500
This fee includes five meals, snacks, and at least 1 resource (see "Agenda" tab for info on meals that will be included)
HOUSING:
Limited housing on campus is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants may select housing, for an additional cost, during registration. On-campus housing includes single and double occupancy rooms, with each room having a private bath. The current cost per night for one person is $50. The cost per night for two people in a room (shared room) is $37.50 per night, per person. If you are interested in on-campus lodging, during the registration process there will be a "Hotel Reservation" page/tab. For more details on housing, please click the "More Info" link next to "On-Campus Lodging" during the registration process.
