MEMS and Innovation from a MEMS Supply Chain Perspective

MEMS device manufacturers and designers are preparing for the future as MEMS and sensors proliferate across many disciplines and new applications loom. The industry is working hard to improve its processing, packaging, assembly, testing, and hardware and software designs to meet more demanding applications in the industrial, consumer electronics, automotive, medical and biomedical, building automation, and geophysical fields. The MEMS supply chain has matured considerably in the last five years and it is rich with talent and expertise in small and large companies alike. However, challenges still remain to producing MEMS-enabled products and innovative business practices need to be nuanced in order to facilitate getting to market, on-time and below-cost. This panel will discuss these challenges and suggest some innovative solutions to enabling “MEMS everywhere.”
