Resolution passed by the OPTN Executive Committee on June 16, 2022.
RESOLVED, that the OPTN Executive Committee supports the in person attendance of individuals at OPTN meetings consistent with recommendations from public health agencies and adopts the following COVID-19 safety protocols for meetings of OPTN Board of Directors, Regions, and Committees:
- That technology tools be provided to allow for virtual observation, participation, and voting in the meetings;
- That those who choose to attend the meetings in person are encouraged to be vaccinated;
- That anyone showing symptoms of COVID-19 may only participate in the meeting virtually;
- That in person attendees are encouraged to wear masks and observe social distancing in indoor public places during the meeting;
- That public observation of the meetings is encouraged to take place virtually; and
- That the OPTN President and OPTN Executive Director will consider the public health conditions in any location where such meeting will be held and are authorized to take all steps reasonably necessary to implement the intent this Resolution including the requirement or modification of any measures reasonably designed to protect the safety of the meeting participants, attendees and members of the public.
