Dr. Brisson has been part of Union Presbyterian Seminary since 1991. His area of concentration is Hebrew and Greek.

He served for 25 years as an Associate Editor at Union's journal Interpretation, and for 10 years as Associate Dean for Academic Programs on the Richmond campus. He writes the column, "The Gargoyle Speaks," for Union's online magazine, Sharon & Brook, and has contributed essays to Christian Century, Pulpit Digest, and Lectionary Homiletics. He currently teaches at Union Presbyterian Seminary, primarily on the Charlotte campus. 

He is fascinated by the relationship between words and the Gospel, particularly how the Gospel may form and inform stories.  

He and his wife, Lou Ann, have two adult children.
