Event Overview

Harvesting Partnerships is a half-day conference focused on top-tier educational programming. This virtual offering features a keynote address, the Lillie Knox Investment Award presentation, Women’s Business Enterprise led “roundtable” discussions on business themes (such as marketing, human resources, etc.), small group networking, and one-on-one networking.

One-on-One Networking Throughout the Event
While the above agenda reflects specific periods dedicated to small group networking, you can one-on-one network anytime with others in the virtual platform.

Keynote Address
Women business owners wear a multitude of hats -- and the innumerable challenges they have faced since the onset of the pandemic have required grit, determination, and persistence. In this session, Jenn Flynn, head of small business bank at Capital One, will cover the current state of small business, focusing on how women-owned businesses are faring as they come out of the pandemic, as well as perspectives and lessons learned on leadership, workplace culture, and well-being. 


WBE Led “Roundtable” Discussions
The morning is dedicated to Women’s Business Enterprise led "roundtable" discussions on business themes such as marketing, human resources, etc. Sized to facilitate discussion, each “roundtable” is a small group video chat limited to 8 attendees plus the host. Spots are open on a first-come, first-served basis.


There are three rounds of discussion. Each discussion is 30 minutes.

Lillie Knox Investment Award Presentation and Donations
The Lillie Knox Investment Award is a cash prize of up to $20,000, exclusively available to WBCS Women's Business Enterprises, to help further business growth. Current members, in good standing, are welcome to apply annually for consideration. Winners will be announced at the event.

Mindfulness Moments

These sessions are intentional, brief breaks scattered throughout the day. They will be guided by a WBE - Lisa Warner, President of AMP Creative - and allow the mind and body to reset and re-energize.

Jenn Flynn
Senior Vice President, Head of Small Business Bank
Capital One

Jenn Flynn is the business leader for Capital One’s Small Business Bank division. She is a highly respected financial services executive with 20+ years of experience leading high-performing diverse teams in an inclusive environment.

Jenn assumed this role in June 2018 because of her passion for helping small business owners. During the global pandemic, Jenn and her Capital One team stood up the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and funded $1.74B of loans to more than 20k customers, reaching the smallest of the small in the communities hardest hit by the pandemic. In 2020, Capital One Small Business Bank was recognized by J.D. Power as #1 in customer satisfaction in the Northeast and South regions, and as the top bank in customer satisfaction for the PPP Program. Previously, Jenn spent 18 months as the Chief Financial Officer for Capital One’s International and Small Business division. Jenn joined Capital One in 2015 as the Chief Financial Officer for Capital One Healthcare, which was acquired from GE Capital, and played a key leadership role in the integration.

Jenn spent 12 years in finance leadership positions at GE Capital prior to joining Capital One, and has an extensive background in finance, credit, and accounting. She served as Chief Financial Officer for the GE Capital Healthcare Financial Services and GE Capital Franchise Finance commercial lending businesses. During the Great Recession, Jenn led a credit risk management shared center of excellence responsible for valuation and accounting for loan and lease losses for GE Capital commercial assets; and she worked closely with regulators to implement CCAR and stress testing for GE Capital Americas. While at GE, Jenn was named GE’s Working Mother magazine’s Working Mother of the Year.

Jenn started her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers where she spent seven years in financial audit. She holds a BA in Accounting from Bryant University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Jenn serves as the Market President for Capital One’s Greater Washington Market President Network and is actively engaged on the Executive Steering Committee for Capital One’s Women’s Business Resource Group. Jenn is an active board member for 1863 Ventures and an advocate for small business owners. She publishes regular op-eds for the Forbes Finance Council and has been featured in media outlets including Yahoo! Finance, Bloomberg Radio, and Enterprising Women.
