NASLEF active members are visible in the communities they serve by providing affordable housing opportunities, strengthening neighborhoods, and impacting the lives of residents. While the global pandemic and ensuing economic crisis that began in 2020 may have altered the way the world will do business moving forward, it has also provided opportunities for innovation, improvement, and advancement of equity and growth within our industry. NASLEF’s 2021 Virtual Conference (27th Annual Conference) will explore moving housing forward while sharing common challenges, implementing change within our industry, and seeking ways to innovate to provide opportunity.

Wednesday is designated for NASLEF Active Member Funds only; they will participate in roundtables designed to discuss NASLEF-related industry issues and provide networking opportunities. On Thursday, the conference is open to the public and leads off with a Plenary panel of nationally recognized thought leaders and impact makers for a deep dive into the changing landscape of affordable housing policy and community investment, and the impact of tax reform in our industry. Hear a debrief of the Affordable Housing Credit Improvement Act (AHCIA), and the emerging issues impacting Y15 and much more.

You will be able to choose from seven sessions with an array of topics, including Unmasking Investors: The Current State of the Equity Market; Service-Enriched Housing; Tapping into the Power of Equity and Inclusion--Diversity as a Catalyst; Innovations in Data Analytics, and much more. Session recordings will be available online for one month following the conference, so you will be able to watch everything you are interested in.

About NASLEF

The National Association of State and Local Equity Funds (NASLEF) is a professional, nonprofit association formed in 1994 to promote the efficient management of state and local equity funds. Collectively through 2020, member funds have raised over $17.86 billion in equity capital for rental housing developments throughout the country, creating or rehabilitating more than 206,659 units of affordable housing in 4,306 developments. NASLEF’s mission is to promote a greater understanding of tax credit and other financing programs, to advocate for community development resources and to encourage the professional development of its member organizations all in support of the communities we serve. Our work is fueled by our members’ leadership in affordable housing advocacy, connection with community organizations, and knowledge of local markets. These organizational attributes enable NASLEF members to invest capital in strategic community endeavors, especially in underserved markets. Across the United States, 10 State and Local Equity Funds are in the business of delivering to 35 states equity capital for rental housing developments that qualify under the LIHTC program.
