This presentation will provide an overview of the PI Data Access family of products—the tools people use to integrate the PI System with external systems and develop custom applications. Typical use cases include analytics, reporting and Business Intelligence (BI) scenarios, using applications such as SQL Server Reporting/Analysis Services, Crystal Reports, MATLAB, SAS, PowerPivot, IBM Cognos, SAP Business Objects and more. PI Data Access products can also be used to enhance—and sometimes automate—business processes and workflows, such as production planning, condition-based maintenance, equipment reliability and product quality, just to name a few. Attend this session to learn what's new and what's coming up in the PI Data Access space. The new PI Visualization Suite package for Client products will also be introduced during this talk.

Maynilad PI System: Journey Towards Better Water Management

Maynilad Telemetry established in 1997 is responsible in providing 24/7 distribution lines flow and pressure, reservoir level, pumping station data and water production figures. Telemetry started its research and development last 2010 which is responsible in planning and designing to adopt to the fast phased technology, changes in monitoring schemes, area coverage expansion, integration with other new systems. About 400 remote monitoring points being supervised and measured and data is sent through emails.

Dynamic Vessel Monitoring System (DVMS) using PI System

The DVMS includes real-time visualization of the supply chain involved in handling various cargo vessels at the Ports and indicates the real-time overall process, key resources involved and productivity / discharge rate during vessel handling so that area of weakness in the supply chain can be identified by real-time Variance Analysis/calculations. The team is able to act accordingly with an aim to reduce the operating cost with such information on hand.

Track 1 - Getting Started with PI AF

This session will be a walk-through with trainees on how to get started with PI AF, building AF elements, linking to a relational table, reusing AF templates and the AF Builder. The session will wrap up with providing best practices for a PI AF database. The knowledge to be taught in Track 1 builds up a strong foundation of understanding for Track 2 session in the afternoon.

Track 2 - Powering your Visualizations & Cubing your PI AF

In this session, trainees will go through the PI Coresight Display creation, PI DataLink report generation (predominantly) using their PI AF data for these tasks. The session will end with trainees being able to build the Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts from PI AF and PI AF Event Frames.
