Track 2: Development
Session will focus on personal and business development topics including:- Daniel Priestley - a successful entrepreneur, international speaker and best-selling author of the book 'Key Person of Influence' will take you through the 15 stages of growing a successful enterprise.
- Chris Davies MSc the co-founder of Engage Partnership Ltd and specialises in developing business change strategies incorporating behavioural economics. In his session, Chris will focus on a new regulatory discipline: behavioural economics, the FCA and your clients.
- Michelle Hoskin of Standards International is a leading expert on operational best practice and she will share some of her top tips for how to create and lead a 21st century professional practice.
- James Featherby is a corporate lawyer and Chairman of the Church of England’s Ethical Investment Advisory Group. James’ session will focus on the socio-economic impact of our investment decisions.
Sessions will focus on technology and include:
- Mark Loosemore of IRESS has been implementing IT systems in the financial services mark for 21 years so he’s well placed to show you how to use technology to differentiate your business in a post RDR world.
- Chris Griffiths is the CEO of OpenGenius who have been leaders in creativity and innovation for over 40 years. In his session, Chris will inspire you with his distinct take on what stops people being creative and how to 'un-learn' the bad habits which stifle the formation of great ideas.
- Daniel Richards of Insight Marketing specialises in effective sales and marketing. He will share with you low cost, low hassle, high impact marketing to differentiate plus protect clients and win quality new ones
- Melony Holman CFPCM of Compliance & Training Solutions Ltd will help you to demonstrate independent advice and what tools are available to do this.
Sessions will focus on technical topics including:
- Mark Polson, founder of the lang cat, works with IFAs and providers, helping them develop new propositions, turn marketing strategy into action and articulate their services in such a way that people without financial services degrees have a hope of understanding them. His session will focus on platforms and due diligence.
- Sam Adams, Head of Financial Adviser Services, EMEA, Dimensional Fund Advisors Ltd. His primary role is to educate advisors on modern portfolio theory, Dimensional's investment philosophy and advisor best practices. In his session he’ll help you understand socially responsible investing.
- Tony Wickenden of Technical Connection is well known for his technical expertise. Tony has for 20 years written the weekly Tax Planning column in Money Marketing and is a regular speaker on the subject. He’s going to be talking about tax planning – the art of the permissible with a focus on tax planning strategies that work and those to be wary of
- Liz Smithers is a solicitor and partner at Clarke Willmott LLP and she'll share her top ten estate planning tips as well as how to minimise tax and avoid queries from HMRC.
