Battlefield Photo Gallery

We now invite all AMMA/Repat  Members and Conference Delegates to submit their best photos that reflect the theme Innovations from the Battlefield to the Inaugural AMMA Battlefield Photo Gallery Competition. Submissions must be uploaded online before the  4th of October 2013, approved entrants will be notified and will need to bring their entry printed in A4 size.

Approved entries must be delivered to staff at the Conference Registration Desk before 10 am on Friday 1 November or Postal entries must be received by no later than COB Friday 4 October.

They will be displayed at the conference on 1 and 2 November.

Entries will be judged by conference delegates and by a panel at the conference, including the President of AMMA, with winners announced at the Conference Dinner on the evening of Saturday 2 November (no discussion over the winning entries will be entered into!).

Entrants don’t have to be a registered conference delegate to enter. 

Any winners not present at the conference will be notified by email. Your photo print will be available for collection at the conclusion of the conference or alternatively please include a suitable stamped addressed envelope if you want your print(s) returned by mail. Entries not collected within one week of the conclusion of the conference will be recycled.

Prizes

There will be two prizes awarded:

The People’s Choice Award – chosen by delegates attending the conference;  and
President’s Award - chosen by a conference panel, which includes the President of AMMA.  

Suitable entries may also be chosen to be used on a future cover of The Journal of Military and Veterans Health (JMVH) or used on the AMMA or JMVH  websites, in accordance with the Entry and Agreement Form.


General Conditions of Entry
1.    The competition is open to all conference delegates and AMMA/Repat Foundation members.
2.    All possible care of entries will be exercised, but no responsibility will be assumed by the Conference Organisers for the loss or damage of entries in exhibit or in transit.
3.    Entrants must complete an Entry and Agreement Form for each photo submitted. A maximum of three (3) entries per entrant is allowed.
4.    The entries subject matter should be pertinent to the theme of the conference.  Photo content must adhere to the AMMA Code of Ethics. The Conference Organising Committee reserves the right to accept or reject entries.




Print Requirements
1.    Prints must be made as large as possible to fit onto an A4 sheet. Prints must be made on heavyweight (eg 220 to 250 gsm) photographic quality paper in matte, gloss or semigloss finish. Prints may be produced by a photographic service bureau. No slides will be accepted.
2.    Prints should be trimmed to the boundaries of the image and must not be framed, mounted or matted in any way.
3.    Each entry must be given a short title for display and citation purposes. The title and a descriptive caption giving brief details of the subject (eg, description of scene or artefact, location, date taken, names of any recognisable people in the picture) must be clearly printed on the back of each print. If you print these details on a separate piece of paper, please ensure the paper is then securely fastened to the relevant print.
4.    Prize winners must be able to supply a digital file of the entry for any subsequent use of your photograph in accordance with the Entry and Agreement Form. The file should be in JPEG format at the same size and resolution as the file used to make the print. The larger dimension of the image must be at least 2540 pixels.
5.    The entrant(s) name and email address or phone number must also appear on the back of each print.

Submissions
In order to submit an image, you will need to complete the 2013  Photo Entry and Agreement  form for EACH PHOTOGRAPH, available here

Please bring  your Photo Competition entry along with a scanned, signed copy of the Entry and Agreenment Form to the Registration Desk on Thursday 31 October or Friday 1 November (no later than 10am) or by post  (no later than 4 October 2013)  to:
