The Battlefield Photo Gallery Competition is open to submissions until 4 October 2013.
BATTLEFIELD PHOTO GALLERY
An exciting initiative at this year’s conference is the Battlefield Photo Gallery. This will be displayed in the Foyer of the Convention Centre. Delegates at the conference will vote for the best picture and a prize will be given to the most engaging photo.
Submissions should be made electronically via the abstract submission portal here by 4 October 2013.
Once approved, the print can be provided onsite at the conference for display.
Entrants must print on A4 photographic material and deliver to the conference registration desk at the Adelaide Convention Centre by 10am on Friday 1 November.
If the entrant is not attending the conference they may post their print to the AMMA Secretariat at 113 Harrington Street, Hobart, TAS, 7000, by Friday 18 October.
Please note as with abstract submissions it is up to the photographer to ensure that personal clearance and authorisation has been given by the respective individual(s) and authorities.

AMMA AWARDS
Weary Dunlop Award - $750
The Australian Military Medicine Association is committed to supporting military medicine, and as a result, present the Weary Dunlop Award for the best original presentation given at the annual Conference. The award is open to all presenters at the Conference and is named in honour of Sir Edward “Weary” Dunlop, who passed away in 1993.
The award prize is $750 and publication of the paper in the association’s journal Journal of Military and Veterans’ Health. It is open to all presenters, whether or not they are members of AMMA and must be an original presentation to which they have intellectual property rights.Medicine
Patron’s Prize - $250
The Patron’s Prize will be awarded to the AMMA Member with the best article published in a peer reviewed journal. It must be a health related article and published within the past financial year (1 July 2012 – 30 June 2013). Members must submit their article for consideration to the AMMA Secretariat secretariat@amma.asn.au by 31 July 2013.
Journal Editor’s Prize - $750
The award for the best paper published in the Journal of Military and Veterans’ Health within a 12 month period will be judged and presented by the Chief Editor.
JMVH New Author Prize - $500
The award for the best paper published within a 12 month period by an author who has not previously published in the Journal of Military and Veterans’ Health will be judged and presented by the Chief Editor.
JMVH Best Veteran Paper - $1500 sponsored by Repatriation Foundation Inc.
The Veterans Paper Prize is awarded by the Editorial Board of The Journal of Military and Veterans’ Health for the best original paper on veterans' health published in each volume of the Journal (constituting the issues published in each financial year). The Editorial Board will determine the criteria and method for determining the award of the Prize.
An original paper is one that is published in any of the following Sections of JMVH: Original Papers; Short Communications; Case Studies; Review Articles; History.
Membership of the Association is not a requirement for the granting of the Award.
The Scientific Committee will be seeking to create a program that addresses a spread of issues and professional experiences that attract a broad discipline of delegates. In particular we would welcome abstracts relating but not restricted to the theme Innovations from the Battlefield. The Scientific Committee would therefore like to take this opportunity to invite you to submit an abstract.

ORAL PRESENTATIONS
Selected authors will be invited to present their papers in an appropriate session. Presenters will be invited to participate in a question and answer period at the conclusion of each session. Oral presentations will be between 15 - 20 minutes in duration including question time, this will be confirmed to authors upon notification that their abstract has been accepted into the program.
POSTER PRESENTATIONS
Submissions should relate to the themes and authors should nominate poster when submitting their abstract. Abstracts submitted for oral presentations that have not been accepted may be invited to provide a poster presentation. Poster dimensions and guidelines will be provided to authors upon notification that their abstract has been accepted as a poster.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
Abstracts MUST be submitted online via the AMMA 2013 Speakers Portal which is available here.
Authors MUST submit a separate abstract for each presentation put forward for consideration and use the abstract template, CLICK HERE to download.
•Abstracts must be received no later than Friday 28 June 2013
•All abstracts must be submitted electronically using the AMMA abstract template and must be submitted online at www.amma.asn.au/amma2013
•Faxed abstracts will not be accepted.
•Receipt of your abstract will be acknowledged as soon as it has been received / downloaded and checked.
